A Must See Classic
24 September 2010
Now here is another classic. A movie for everyone. This supernatural flick has fantastic special effects, awesome performances, a decent original story, and of course a good script. This is one of those films that are not to be missed.

A favourite quote from this film for me would have to be: "They're here." Said by the young actress Heather O'Rourke, who played Carol Anne. Would have been great to see the deleted scenes and a documentary on the film.

The film relates to people as the family are the everyday usual family. There are quite a lot of scary moments. It is very pleasant seeing how far the parents go to get their child back. It is also one of my favourite horror/thriller films. And in general just one of my favourite films.

A Let Down, But Not Awful
24 September 2010
This sequel was a let-down when compared to the first two entries.

A tiny bit watchable, but only because of the performance of Heather O'Rourke as Carol Anne. The special effects were also the only things that kept it very slightly watchable. The script and story are the only things that bring this feature down. Cinematography was done greatly.

This sequel is only memorable for the repetitive name calls: "Carol Anne! Carol Anne! Carol Anne!" This movie makes me feel for Heather; especially after her passing before the film was even released.

The ending was disappointing; I would have preferred the original ending. It's a real disappointment that it's impossible to see the deleted scenes, including the original ending.

I did notice each film getting darker after the other, in the first sequel the poltergeist went so far to the fact that they wanted to kill the family to get Carol Anne, here someone is actually killed.

A Decent Follow Up
23 September 2010
A nice sequel to a classic supernatural thriller/horror film from 1982. It has certain sweet scenes that I feel helped the film. Definitely not as good as the first, but still as great as a sequel can be to 'Poltergeist'. Maybe not a flick for everyone, but should be fine only for people who enjoyed the first.

The only real flaw is the short sequence on the other side. It's a shame that they deleted quite a few good scenes, it's even worse that there is no way to see them. This sequel is very underrated. It paid great respect to the original, with lines, camera shots, creepiness, and sequences. A good example would be an extreme close-up on a TV, and the camera slowly tracking away.

It continued the story well. The special effects are amazing here too, as is the acting. It does loose the realism of the first. Also the actor who plays the villain is brilliant, he was scary. I hate that they never mentioned the elder sister or even dedicated it to the actress, who played her. There are very small flaws, however overall a good faithful sequel to the original.

Check it out if you really enjoyed the first.
