Madame Web (2024)
This is probably the worst movie from Sony
"My initial query is, how could a distinguished production house like Sony/Columbia Pictures produce a movie of such poor quality? The entire film was disappointing, with subpar acting, a lackluster storyline, and unsatisfactory visual effects. It seemed as though the actors were merely participating for the paycheck, with no real passion for their roles. The director appeared to rush the storytelling, failing to weave the narrative effectively. It's as if this movie shouldn't have been made in the first place. It was a regrettable waste of time, and it's been a while since I've seen a film this disappointing."
Face/Off (1997)
Probably the best 90s police/cop action movie of all time
The film itself was a gem of the 90s, a decade that was rich in groundbreaking cinema. The plot was innovative for its time, setting it apart from other films in the genre. It was not just another run-of-the-mill action flick; it was a film that dared to be different, and it succeeded.
The supporting cast also delivered stellar performances, adding depth and dimension to the film. Their performances complemented Cage's, creating a cohesive and compelling narrative that kept audiences on the edge of their seats.
The action sequences were nothing short of spectacular. They were meticulously choreographed and executed with precision, making for some truly thrilling moments. The film didn't just have good action; it had some of the best action sequences of the decade, setting a high bar for future films in the genre.
In conclusion, this film is a shining example of 90s cinema, with Nicolas Cage delivering one of his finest performances. It's a film that stands the test of time, remaining as captivating and engaging today as it was when it first hit the big screen. It's not just a film; it's a cinematic experience that leaves a lasting impression.
The Fall (2013)
If you already watched LUTHER then this might be not for you
I've seen Luther and was thoroughly impressed by it. The initial two seasons were filled with tension, showcasing intelligent and well-crafted narratives. This show, however, lacks the same level of tension. If you've seen Luther, you've essentially seen 70% of this show due to their striking similarities. There's nothing novel here, as all the plot twists have been previously explored in Luther. After watching the first season of this show, I found it somewhat dull, mainly because I had already encountered these elements in Luther, which presented them in a far more intelligent manner. Therefore, I would suggest watching Luther first instead of this show.
Severance (2022)
A remarkable sci-fi series from Apple+
When I started the series, my expectations were set for the usual science fiction fare, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the narrative gained depth and intrigue with each episode. The series excelled in character development, transitioning from good to remarkable, culminating in the last two episodes that were nothing short of spectacular, delivering a profoundly impactful experience. The storyline was masterfully crafted with twists that were complex in their construction yet presented in an easily digestible manner, a testament to the writer's dedication. The cliffhangers and unresolved plot points have left me in keen anticipation of the second season. Overall, it's a highly addictive series that instantly hooks viewers, making it ideal for binge-watching.
The Sinner (2017)
Not that great or mind blowing as everyone talking about it in the review section
The show in question unfolds at a deliberate pace and might not offer much in the way of novelty for viewers who are familiar with "True Detective." Having watched just the inaugural season, it's clear that the plot doesn't pack many surprises or twists that genre aficionados might expect. Although Jessica Biel puts forth a commendable effort, anchoring the show with a solid performance, Bill Pullman's interpretation of his role doesn't quite hit the mark for a series that falls within the crime drama category. Those in search of an enthralling and complex narrative would likely find more satisfaction in other series, such as the intricately plotted "Dexter" or the gritty "True Detective," rather than investing time in this particular show.
Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasya (2023)
Bad Movie with bad storytelling and bad acting
Satyavati's presence in the first half made me feel like I was watching an art film rather than a detective movie. Unfortunately, there was no element of suspense or a detective environment in the film. Although the setting was visually appealing, it wasn't utilized to enhance the storytelling. Only in the second half did the storyline start to become clearer, but even then, it lacked excitement. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the movie. After a 10-year hiatus, I finally watched a Bengali movie in the cinema and was disappointed to find that the quality remains unchanged. Very very bad experience.
Bloody Daddy (2023)
Most Binged Watching Hindi Movie Right Now
I never write a review before for any Hindi movies but Bloody Daddy is literally worth to write for. After seeing the movie for first 20 min I understand that this movie was copied from a Hollywood movie called Sleepless(2017) starring Jamie Foxx. But the director done a beautiful job and he copied beautifully. The thing mostly i appreciate for in this movie is BMG, the background score was top notch. After long time I really enjoyed a hindi movie and it's feels like i'm watching a Hollywood action film. No one can done this role other than Shahid Kapoor. Every character is on point. Worth to watch.
