Highly Entertaining Nonsense
8 August 2003
Agent Aika plays like an animated Russ Meyer movie. It's perfect 1:00 AM entertainment and great way to play 'count-the-panties' (you won't be able to keep up). I suggest watching the subtitled version, as the dub verges on unlistenable. Just kick back and have fun with this flick. DON'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!!!!

The Greatest Horror Film Ever Made!
31 May 2003
Hideo Nakata's 'Ring' is a masterpiece of the genre. Without a doubt, this is the scariest film ever made. It also marks the only time in my entire life when, upon finishing the film, I rewound the tape and WATCHED IT AGAIN without moving a muscle! This was partially because of how much I loved it, and mostly because I couldn't have slept anyway!

Watch this along with 'Ring 2' and 'Ring 0' before seeing the crappy american version, as the remake contains elements (and scenes) from those two films as well.

I also feel that anyone who likes the american remake more than the japanese original should not be allowed to have opinions about anything. Not politics, religion, movies, restaraunts, parking spaces..... NOTHING! Shun these idiots like lepers. Or just pity them...

The BEST Bond movie in a long time.
22 November 2002
Never you mind the ignorant poster who preceded me, for he (she? it?) seems to be confused. The Bond films have always incorporated the most awful puns imaginable to comment on the action. Anyone who's seen even a FEW of them should know that. It's part of the endearing corniness that has long been a part of the James Bond series.

Anyhoo, this is the perfect way to celebrate the 20th Bond film. With a movie that breaks all the rules of the franchise, while celebrating the classic elements that defined the series. I was so glad to see campy, imaginative villains with elaborate (and ludicrus) hideouts and some the best henchmen since Jaws (one goes by the name Mr. Kill, need I say more?). We haven't seen a Bond flick of this level since Moonraker.

There's so much that I don't want to spoil for you, but let me say that this film delivers everything Bond fans have been begging to see for the past 40 years.

One minor complaint: the frame-trimming camera-swoops got on my nerves a LOT. It looked like something out of XXX. But, it's occurs rarely and is thankfully brief.

Nobody Does it Better.

SEE THE JAPANESE VERSION!!!
21 October 2002
I can understand why people are so blown away by Gore Verbinski's version of The Ring. After all, american horror fans are somewhat desperate for halfway decent film making so I'm not suprised that the public has gobbled up this watered-down retread. Ladies and Gentlemen, do not be deceived.

Hideo Nakata's 1998 film "Ringu" is the scariest, most perfectly crafted horror film ever made. It is a masterpiece of sheer terror and imagination. It is everything that the american version is not.

Dreamworks doesn't want you to know that, that is why they are suppressing the release of japanese film in this country. Everywhere else in the world, "Ringu" is known to be the greatest horror film ever made. But, not in America. Why? So Dreamworks can take your money and shove an inferior film down your throat.

Do yourselves a favor. Log on the Ebay right now and get yourself a copy of the Japanese "Ring" trilogy (Ring, Ring 2, Ring 0). Then experience what TRUE horror is like.
