When Calls the Heart: Life is But a Dream (2023)
Selfish Elizabeth
I know that Elizabeth needed to take things slowly when she started dating Lucas since she has a son and lost her husband. The healing process takes a while and can be scary. Lucas has been very kind and patient ... but they're engaged and it's his relationship too! She only looks at what she wants without considering Lucas' feelings. She doesn't compromise but all he does is compromise. I think it's completely reasonable for him to want to build them a house for their family. Why would he want to stay in a home she had with her first husband when they can create their own home and memories. Plus he wants land for little Jack to play on. There are easy ways to get around her objections: She can visit her friends anytime she wants by taking their car or horses. Lee and Rosemary are well off too, so they could build a house near Lucas and Elizabeth. I'm really over this one sided relationship...
Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022)
A True Gem
For the last few years hallmark has been so focused on getting out a high quantity of new Christmas movies that the result is a loss of quality with a lot of the movies. This movie is definitely set apart and is a true gem. Not only is the cast phenomenal, with several wonderful leads and fun cameos, but the story is funny and yet has such depth. I love the individual character growth for each of the brothers. Their self realization of the mistakes they've made and the desire to grow is very refreshing. Another great aspect is how the family dynamic shifts from frustration with each other to finding respect and remembering they love each other. Of course one of the best parts is the dance!! I should also say I love "Three Men and a Baby" so this was fun to watch. Way to go with this one- I'll watch it again!
Station 19: Crawl Out Through the Fallout (2022)
Used to love it, but now not so much
I used to really love the excitement, drama, funny moments, and the depth of the characters. Now it just feels like the whole purpose is political and there is not enough balance.... I watch shows to escape the political drama. Now with the next season promising a mayoral race, I am not going to be watching anymore. I am sad because I really do love the characters (even the ones I do not like) and I was interested in some of the other storylines. Thank goodness for the new show Fire Country, they actually fight fires! I don't know what else to write, but it is requiring me to have a certain number of characters in order to submit my review.
North to Home (2022)
Love & Family
This was a beautiful drama. Unique story with depth and heart. Love the importance placed on the family working through difficulty and reconnecting. I won't elaborate in order to avoid spoilers.
A Kiss Before Christmas (2021)
Favorite 2021 Premier So Far
This is my favorite 2021 premier so far! With all the movies hallmark is putting out they've lost the special something- more quantity over quality....but this movie is cute and has depth- I really felt connected. Loved the moral of the story that people are more important than money.
Good Witch: The Exchange (2021)
Not the same anymore
Just doesn't have the same heart as it used to- something is different. I don't mind new characters, but why get rid of so many of the old characters.
Good Witch: The Bird (2020)
Abigail and Donovan
I binged this season to get caught up. Finally, the curse is broken and now we can watch Abigail and Donovan's relationship progress! After Sam and Cassie, they're my favorite couple. Their character growth and chemistry is fantastic. Can't wait to see what next season holds. Time to start my next binge session!!
