Mamma Mia! (2008)
How Can You Resist It?
WOW!!! One of the best films i've seen to date. Perfect Storyline, Perfect Singalong. Mamma Mia! is a great film with great acting. Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried were perfect actors! Also Pierce Brosnan, A good job for venturing into the world of musicals. Also a good job from all the other main cast,Colin Firth,Stellan Skarsgard,Christine Baranski and Julie Walters. An Impressive Job by all of you! Anyone who says this is 'good' - It's not. It's Excellent!!! Very Highly Recommended. I could watch this again and again and again and again! And to sum it up - you'll have the time of your life watching this Excellent film. So just pop to your Video store and get this beauty out on DVD. You won't regret it. This movie definitely tops my 'feel good' film list.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Alternate (2007)
Great Season Starter!
This has to be the best episode of SVU yet. This episode is just simply stunning, from quality direction to picture perfect acting. As always, great performance from the regular cast, especially Christopher Meloni & Mariska Hargitay. Cynthia Nixon played her character, Janis Donovan, a woman with multiple personalities to perfection. She portrayed each of her personalities to equal quality, some of them nice, some childish and some fiery. Great acting from other guest stars as well. Praise goes to everybody involved in this episode. I've heard there is an episode coming up featuring Robin Williams. Hopefully that will beat this one...but it's gonna be pretty hard to beat!
The World's Fastest Indian (2005)
An Absolute Masterpiece...Must Not Be Missed!!!
No Film Is Greater than this. One of the most captivating humorous & adventurous films New Zealand has ever produced. I did not expect this film to be as good. I got it out on DVD, and I'm rapt I did. Anthony Hopkins is a marvellous Burt Munro and the guest role from Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt was a beauty. It was a very easy plot to follow and Legendary director Roger Donaldson sure knows how to do it. As i live in Southland, where it was sort-of filmed, I say you're not a southlander unless you've watched this. So if you live in Southland, watch it! You'll definitely regret it if you don't. This film has given Invercargill a great name..."Where dreams are possible". If so,more than 10/10!!!
In My Father's Den (2004)
Worst New Zealand Film To Date
This movie was so highly praised??? I can't believe it. This was a boring slow unenjoyable film. The plot was easy to lose control of and casting Matthew MacFadyen as Paul wasn't the best casting decision ever made. Very,Very occasionally the movie was OK, especially the end. If you want to watch a boring slow unenjoyable film then maybe this is it. But if you don't want a boring slow unenjoyable film then this film is definitely not for you. Also...This is the worst film compared to "The World's Fastest Indian", that film was an absolute masterpiece. But the scenery in the film was quite good as well (I live near there). 2/10 - not the best film ever made.
Charlotte's Web (2006)
The Sweetest Thing
This movie is the best movie i have watched in ages. Dakota Fanning as Fern was great casting. I love the novel & I love the film. In Fact, It's better than Dick King-Smith's "Babe", And I liked that as well. Dominic Scott Kay Is the perfect voice for Wilbur...He sounds so sweet. It was excellent how they stuck to the big story compared to Action film Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker, which didn't stick to the novel. I was almost going to attend Night At The Museum but decided for Charlotte's Web at the last minute. And I am sure glad I did because I loved this film lots. I would regret it if i didn't see it. So if you are bored, and have got nothing to do, then see this beauty of a film. I recommend it highly!
10/10 By Far!
A Cinderella Story (2004)
Awesome!
This movie had the bright feel of a teen romance movie. Hilary Duff & Chad Michael Murray are a great pair! I was overly impressed with Jennifer Coolidge, playing the Stepmother. Regina King & Dan Byrd also had great supporting performances. This would definitely have to be the best Hilary Duff film to date. If you are a teenager stuck at home, then pop down to your Video/DVD rental shop to rent this beauty of a film. I strongly recommend to Hilary Duff fans, and even people who aren't keen on her! This sure is a great film,no matter which way anybody puts it. The movie is so good, I watched it twice in one day! This is definitely a film on my Top 10 list.
Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005)
AMAZING Family Movie!
this film really surprised me. I thought "Oh great, another wonky family movie" but No! i was blown away. Tom Baker(Steve Martin) did an excellent job as the father of the 12 baker kids. Bonnie Hunt also did a reasonably good job as the mother. Eugene Levy & Carmen Electra were great additions made by Adam Shankman, the director. Eugene was the father of an 8-kid rival family, shown as a competitive man. I give huge praise to Eugene, and i still wonder why he even got nominated for the golden raspberry awards. Carmen was the soft light-hearted stepmother of 8. Carmen was a great actress and perfect to play a soft light-hearted role. The best kid actor by far was Alyson Stoner, who really showed her best in this film. I strongly recommend you buy the DVD.
