Camdaki Kiz (2021)
unbelievably childlike imagination of the writer and director
This story is the fruit of the imagination of an emotionally unstable writer and director. Apparently, some male Turkish directors mentally have problems with the sexuality of women and their virginity. And since money is the only motivation to make these poor-quality series, the writers and directors try to satisfy their own sick imaginations in the process. That is why their scripts are full of stories about below the belt of women and underage girls. This is shown in other Turkish series, like Orphan Flowers, Fatma Gahol, and the like. The confused writers and directors of these types of stories care nothing about the quality of their work. They create this nonsense to satisfy their own sick imagination and also please their male viewers in third-world countries that these things on a smaller scale happen all the time. Sadly in this series, there is also no sign of the brilliant acting that is usually the signature marking of their artists.
Yemin (2019)
waste of time
Over half of this series is music in the background and flashbacks. And half of the remaining scenes are stares between the characters so much so that you get bored and fast forward the scenes. We sensed this writer does not know how to write a dialog. Also, the events are so childish that one wonders why even make this writing a series and stretch it for this long. We watched a few episodes of this writer's series called Emanet but did not like it and quit watching it. Now we know why. The same problem here. The events are put together in a hurry without respect for the audience, and even with the mastery of the actors, it does not entertain. In this series, Yemin, all events are intended to tease the audience which after a while it becomes annoying because, after a while, you know what is going to happen in the next scene before it happens. Bad writing, and bad stories, but excellent play by the actors and actresses. The 3-star is for the players otherwise this series deserves a -0- rating.
Afili Ask (2019)
Funny and well played
The story is really funny. Most credits go to the actors which is the case for almost all of the Turkish series. Otherwise, it seems the stories are repeats of events that they use in every one of their series. We recommend this series to everyone with a sense of humor. This was one of the few Turkish series we watched and are happy that we did. Although it had the English subtitle the humor was well translated. We specially liked the skill of the leading actor in dominating the scenes. He is an skillful actor. Also the leading lady was very funny too and beautiful. Well played and well done. We will watch more series from these actors in the future.
Kiralik Ask (2015)
Has no particular story
It's all do and undo. The poor actors did their best, it's that the whole thing is like a carton, and we all know anything can happen in a carton. I don't think real thinking has been behind writing this series' story. We escaped most of it bc they were borrowed from other series. If I could give a negative rating I would. There are real entertaining Turkish series out there, it's that this one lacked substance. We also are puzzled about how this series got any awards. Maybe there were some umbrellas That were left and they thought they give them away and they happen to see the director of this series.
No: 309 (2016)
Awful
The first 30-40 episodes were tolerable and sometimes funny, but then it turned into junk. It felt as if the director of this nonsense wanted to test the patience of its audiences. After watching a few Turkish series we concluded that they start every series with limited stories, and as soon as people continue watching, they run out of creative ideas. So after trying the few events of hospitals and defibrillators and back-and-forth separations and mothers destroying their kids' lives, the writers ran out of ideas and then junk episode after junk episode. Sorry IMDB I know you do not like negative comments since you are connected to the industry but this is my review.
Karagül (2013)
Pure nonsense
Most Turkish series have the same 5 events. This one was no exception. Only this one is written and directed by people who have no clue how to create conflict to move the story forward. Without being a spoiler, I give you one small example.
This guy orders two men to kill this woman at her restaurant afterhours, woman grabs a knife to defend herself. Suddenly her boyfriend shows up. He knocks down one of the attackers. The girl runs away to get help. Suddenly police comes. The girl returns to the crime scene. Her boyfriend had knifed one criminal, the other has run away. Police arrests the boyfriend for killing the criminal instead of awarding him. Couple days later the other criminal comes forward and says he had seen no boyfriend at the restaurant when they attacked the girl and actually, the girl has killed the criminal. Now police let her boyfriend go, and they arrest her instead. They put her in jail for defending herself. It seems in this country if you are a woman, you should let attacker kill you otherwise you will go to jail for defending you. The whole series is full of such stupid nonsenses that we stopped watching after the restaurant event. Almost all Turkish series have 5 events. 1-eavesdropping and hearing the exact information.2-two brother love the same woman.3-police and doctors are all corrupt.4- accidents where AED must be used. 5-mothers create the most harm in their children's lives. One thing is working and that is--THE ACTORS ARE AMAZINGLY TALENTED---. That is the only reason we sometimes choose to watch subtitled Turkish series.
Sen Çal Kapimi: Episode #1.28 (2021)
dumb
The most pointless series I have ever seen. It started fine, then as the time passed, they ran out of story, and the whole thing became dumb and nonsense with pointless laughter, showing streets and the sea with music in the background and stupid dialogs with laud giggles. The relationships are so strange with no meaning. The girl is beautiful, but the director is using her as a subject of empty-headed illiterate object, and all they did was show her half naked body and make her flirt with the guy without any actual story. The whole story is insult to intelligence. We left it unfinished.
Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki (2010)
nonsense fake made in the restroom
People in this series die and then come to life. Someone writes his will under water while dying . A character is deep in love with one of the daughters and is married to her, gives his child and his wife to another man bc the wife wants. And while he is a good father the mother does not tell the child about her real dad, although dad is also around everyday. One brother asks his love to marry his near dead brother, then sleeps with the same girl and causes dead of his brother.
A husband who has left his own wife for another woman suddenly decides to rape his unwanted wife just to lengthen the series. Then there is this one guy that is everything, a barber, a high official, jailer, killer, you named it. He kills his own daughter but no one even questions him, takes hostages, assassins' , put people in jail and rapes a grown up man just to make his mom to sleep with him, and more junks like this. And you call this series a family series? Wow. That tells a lot about this series' writers. Also I know IMD is not going to publish this review bc it does not rock their fancy. I think this series was written by a confused person in the restroom.
Cesur Ve Güzel (2016)
Just like any other Turkish soup opera unreal plots, lies, cheats and deceives
This soup op is another representation of Turkish culture. police and judicial system is paid for performance, women are bad soles and creators of worst conspiracies', men are naïve and the rest are criminals or helper of criminals. parents also do most harm. and as always, the Turkish writers put an innocent good person in their films and enable everyone to commit the most horrible crimes on the good character. Its in all of their series that I have seen so far . the 7 is for the acting, the only good thing about Turkish soups.
Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari (2017)
good story strange believe
The story is interesting but the believes are strange. I am not from middle eastern culture, just know a few languages and watch movies for cultural differences. Sadly I see adoption is not welcomed in Turkey. Apparently adopted kids are viewed as outsiders and their new identities can be taken away from them anytime. Also, love is viewed as a burden, not a pleasure. I like how Yagize plays with his face to show his feelings, That is the only way I understood his love toward Hazan. But wondered why Turkish actors are not taught how to walk. None of them walk with purpose and style. Hazan character was a naïve drama queen. She was too much under Sinan's influence. Most of the story was affective memory conversation, It would have been more romantic if the lovers thought of their love in a more descriptive affective memory talk. I like the lady who played Fazilat . She was good. It seemed the director ran out of money at the end and rushed to end the series because, after spending 120 hours building Yagiz'z love toward Hazan in seeding his love, they only spent 45 seconds to show its fruit. Turkish series end like that. They try so hard to extend the life of their series with irrelevant scenes that they ran out of money and are forced to wrap up their stories in a hurry. All in all more than an average series though. We loved it and recommend it to all foreign movie lovers.
