The Tribute - Battle of the Bands (2022)
Nice to watch!
The idea of a tribute show worked out very nice with TheTribute - Battle of the Bands. A lineup with bands like The Billy Joël Experience and Queen Must Go On, Brucified and others had a battle for six weeks. Th 4 remaining bands were allowed to perform in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on the 7th of May 2022. The level was very high with 2 bands who were on top in my opininion.
The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show (2022)
Very good show.
In my opinion the show was spot on. The sound was very good, i listened the second time on m y headphone and it was an incredible sound. The artists and dancers delivered and Mary j. Blige was awseome. I don't understand the critics and a 1 as a rate for this show.
Oma & Opa (2019)
Well done
I like this documentary very much. You can hear the Dutch accent from Opa very clearly but that's very nice to hear because I am Dutch too. They made the big step to emigrate and for that i admire them very much.
Comedy Central Roasts - Netherlands: Comedy Central Roast of Hans Klok (2021)
What a waste of talent
It was a disaster. I felt sorry voor Hans Klok because they were much to friendly and the jokes were very bad. A guy like Sjaak, an mediocre rapper was a pain in the ash to watch. Henry van Loon and Johan Goossens were the only two who were really good. Henk Westbroek was okay but the rest was not worth watching.
The Horizon Project (2013)
A real gem
This post apocalyptic (horror) film is truly a gem. A group of uninfected people are being tested to be allowed into The Last Horizon. Although the film is from 2013, there are familiar parallels with the current situation. A boy who, with his father, is one of the chosen ones embarks on a bus journey to "the promised land". You can easily sense that something is not going as planned, but the elaboration, the unpleasant atmosphere and the setting do an excellent job.
B&B Vol Liefde (2021)
I Love It
The summer hit of RTL4 in 2021with about 800,000 viewers. Unfortunately, there is still little of romance to report from the B&B front. Debbie in Salerno sees the men more as handymen of whom she expects them to think 'strategically' and Jacob in Portugal is stuck with 5 women, including Romanian staff members who think he is just an oddball. Bert is a stiff-necked bully who chases all the ladies back to the Netherlands with his blunt remarks. There is enough to report about and the various media are full of it.
K2: The Impossible Descent (2020)
Breathtaking
What a breathtaking documentary this was. Andrzej Bargiel first climbs solo, without oxygen, to the top of the 8611 metres high K2. His fellow climbers have a drone with them that turns out to be very useful and shows beautiful images. From the top, he puts on his skis and skis up to basecamp at 5000 m. I am not into this kind of mountaineering myself, at most a volcano in Bali, but I found this very beautiful to watch.
