Metropia (2009)

A very good movie of an unusual style
21 October 2012
I have watched this move on a hint, haven't expected it to be much, but in the end it turned out swell. The atmosphere created and the style of the movie is excellent. I have really enjoyed it, as it is not heavy, but more tranquil-food-for-thought kind of movie.

The number of allegories in the movie is overwhelming, and there are many connections with how the society functions today.

The low ratings for this movie are almost certainly there because of the complexity of the work, not because it is bad. Getting to IMDb it immediately reminded me about Aronofsky's Fountain, which had (and still has) sub par user rating compared to the quality of the work.

I think that Metropia is worthwhile and enjoyable work, and can recommend it.

Movie that leaves a strange feeling in your stomach

I must admit that I have never seen such a movie. I do love SF, but this was something new and fresh.

Acting was great, movie in general was great, everything about it was really great.

This move leaves a strange feeling in your stomach after watching it. Certainly, this one is not a classical Hollywood thingy, but really great thing.

When you make masterpiece, time doesn't matter anymore. This is one of those great movies that will keep its place amongst the best there is in science fiction genre for all times.

Watch this one, you won't regret it!

Delicatessen (1991)

Excellent movie!

Wow! I was really shocked when I have seen this movie.

Film is made with Sepia technique, but I didn't realized that it will be so "experimental". Everything in this movie is so fresh, and unpredictable, and new, and fantastic, and there is even a beautiful love story incorporated! :) Delicatessen differs so much from today's Hollywood movies, which all are filmed in similar fashion. I have picked this one from one of the "Best off" SF list, and I am glad I have watched it. I don't have much time to spend, and I tend to preselect movie on which one I will spend two hours of my time.

European movies are so interesting and rich in comparison with US films, and I don't get how is possible that people still watch low quality stuff, when there are masterworks like this one.

This movie will completely stun you.

I am sorry because there is no grade 20 for a movie.

It is all about a student on the edge, his mother desperately trying to get him to finish school and get to faculty, and about his sadistic stepfather, and love, and rage...

Ondskan impressed me so much that I have registered on IMDb, and I am currently writing a comment. :) If you like this one, you should also watch "Donnie Darko".

And one strange thing, I couldn't help it, but all the time I have had some strange feeling that I am watching a "soft" (meaning pleasant, not so harsh, but still technically perfect) work of Stanley Cubrick.
