Dune (2021)
10/10
Greatest cinematic experience of my life.
19 September 2021
What we are witnessing is the birth of a mythical cinematographic saga which differs from the pretentious blockbuster sagas by its depth. Denis is a genius and he was able and knew how to take the time to set up a universe this astonishing and beautiful. The worldbuilding I just so perfect that it seems entering a real historical event in another universe. And for the aspect, the shots are grandios, magnificent landscapes which transcribe the atmosphere of Dune so well. The storytelling is done wonderfully. The soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is so surreal that it accentuates every aspect of this complex mystical universe. The performances are incredible. An excellent casting indeed especially Timothée as Paul.

Dune is not just a sci-fi movie. It's an art. An art that needs to be witnessed. It's exactly what cinemas are made for. Spend your money on this. Watch it in theatre. Can't wait for Part Two.

Epitome of cringe
11 August 2021
This is like the most pathetic thing ever. All those forced cliche jokes and lame storyline, makes me wanna throw up. It's nothing but rich kids partying and stressing over some stupid list they made when they were toddlers.

Shadow and Bone (2021–2023)
9/10
Wasn't expecting this!
24 April 2021
Shadow and Bone is not just any flashy fantasy show. It seems to be much more than that. The production quality, sets and the costumes are terrific. The intense background music makes a great impact too. After watching Season 1, the thing I think had the most impact on grabbing the viewer's attention was it's cast and an engaging storytelling. It didn't seem dragged or bore nevertheless was unique and intriguing. I'd say the show definitely isn't as great as GOT but it's worth every second and has the potential to be even much bigger than what it is now. Can't wait for season 2.

Now that I've seen it, I can surely say that this movie so perfect that it stands with others like the departed etc. "The Gentlemen" is a crime drama at it's best with one of the finest star studded cast and an amazing plot.

Made for Love (2021–2022)
8/10
Quality writing with an amazing cast.
25 March 2021
Hazel's (Cristin Milioti) escape narrative has huge caper energy, but Made for Love has mysteries within mysteries, and they unfold in ways that are alternately exciting, astounding, and creepy. Milioti is the clear standout among an already impressive cast. Even when the deliberately scattered storytelling wears a little thin, she holds our attention with no trouble. Billy Magnussen's Byron Gogol is also delightfully, terrifyingly unhinged. The only thing wrong with this show is its pacing. Otherwise the outstanding cast gives us more than enough reason to keep coming back for those answers and makes Made for Love a solid installment in the techno-dystopic rom-com genre.

Superman & Lois (2021–2024)
7/10
Feels like a fresh start, hope it not becomes a soap opera like others on CW.
23 February 2021
Superman & Lois is far more entertaining than its fairly generic title might suggest. The series makes the most of Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch's chemistry, utilizing the two characters and their romance in a way Supergirl never could. Superman & Lois may feel utterly divorced from the rest of the Arrowverse, but that's just as likely to be a selling point for many viewers. The only thing to hope from this show that it remains a balanced blend of genres but not a soap opera like others on CW. However, the premier is really likeable and that intense cinematography gives a touch of man of Steel mixed in Smallville. Really hope the writing and script remains creative and entertaining.

A heartwarming end.
12 February 2021
Condor's performance was as always charismatic. Honestly, the movie didn't disappoint me. I didn't expect too much so I got wt I expected. It's a good way to end the trilogy. What makes this trilogy different from other cliche rom-coms is the soundtrack and definitely the cinematography. It's surreal and the direction has a feel good vibe in it. Overall if you enjoyed watching the other two parts, you'll probably enjoy this one.

A Proper Ending
4 February 2021
Finally, a great Episode after two disappointing ones. This episode honestly had true Riverdale vibes and seeing it as a whole including the flashbacks reminded me how much attached I was with this show. Also, happy to see that they're now focusing on Archie and how they are setting the time jump. Really hope every episode from Season 4 would've been like this.

Powerhouse Duo!
31 January 2021
Sam Levinson's Malcolm and Marie tackles the film industry, critics and the art of film making with curiosity and contempt. A brutally honest love/hate relationship that overwhelms and enthralls with powerful music notes in background. Zendaya and John both deliver staggering dramatic performances that astround and the cinematography is breathtaking. I struggle with rating this film as a whole because of my frustrations with the writing, but I ultimately choose to speak positively of it because of the supreme strength of the actors who were able to give this story a sense of authenticity.

An effective rollercoaster of emotions.
15 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Ultimate Playlist of Noise uses sound design in a really interesting way. What the film achieves with sound is pleasing and visually feel good too. It's one of the most brilliant aspects of the film Keean Johnson gives a strong and believable performance as Marcus and while the plot occasionally slows to a snail's pace, his interest in experiencing the sounds of the world during his "Going away party" for his ears keeps things fresh. There is so much more to life than the small corners of existence we live in and this film paints that reality with both tremendous empathy and a bluntness that lesser writers and directors would avoid. With fine performances from all actors and some beautiful cinematography and sound mixing, "The Ultimate Playlist of Noise" has a lot of good reasons to watch it and a comforting overall message. But with a plot that draws instant comparisons to similar stories that are more memorable like the sound of Metal, it's destined to be forgotten. Anyways, it's a heartwarming choice if you're looking for a new release to get your emotions going.

WandaVision (2021)
8/10
A Delightful Superhero Soap, unlike anything in MCU
15 January 2021
Part loving whimsical homage to Classic TV history, part off tantalizing kilter mystery, WandaVision is a wonderfully weird and strikingly bold step into the small screen for the MCU - and a perfect showcase for Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. Marvel goes off on a bizarre and audacious twists and a world away from the usual explosions and super-punching yet confidently delivered tangent, bringing back familiar characters in a fresh and imaginative way. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany deliver the comedic goodies, as the series drops delightful comic book Easter eggs and it's mystery unfolds towards the phase 4 in MCU. Watching the first two episodes proved that the show is definitely expertly produced and spectacularly written with some beautifully performed twists on TV history, and Olsen and Bettany commit hard to the cheesy comedy. Wandavision is an extraordinarily different aspect to superhero genre.

The Mandalorian (2019– )
10/10
Star Wars in it's purest form.
9 January 2021
Hands down to Jon and Dave for creating something for Star Wars that unfortunately hasn't been witnessed since Original trilogy except Rogue one. Feel like finally the magic is redeemed after the huge disappointment by the sequel trilogy. Everything and every other detail was so hitting the perfection mark. Captivating fast paced story line, stunning visuals, flawless makeup and costumes, imp. characters crossing over from past, authentic performances from the cast and CGI smartly used; to name a few. Casting Pedro Pascal as the lead might've been one of the best decision they could ever make. The show also handles nostalgia with a beautifully delicate touch. For the sake of die hard fans and the betterment of whole Star Wars Universe, it should be given in the good hands of Favuerio and Filoni. 'The Mandalorian' has successfully delighted every Star Wars fan with its epic exciting direction, intriguing performances and unique theme that really makes me look forward to all the other announced Star Wars projects and I hope now, this vibe never fades out.

A feel good movie with terrific performances.
3 January 2021
The movie is an authentic, beautiful and deeply powerful ode to the importance of life, friends and relationships. It has a powerhouse trio I didn't know I needed- flex their maturity as actors in such poignant, nuanced performances. Exactly what we need right now. And these type of movie deserve more recognition.

Can't help myself but watch it over and over again.
3 January 2021
This show might be the wittiest show ever created. It has a unique style of direction, lots of humour and intelligent jokes that makes each and every episode perfect. The awkward situations and a constant outstanding comedy timing proves how dedicated the writers are. The cast is so beyond ideal that not even a single character is irritating. And warning- you're gonna fall in love with Steve Carell.

Not great but a good experiment
25 December 2020
Bollywood has been disappointing years after years but movies like this and Ludo establishes a hope. The black comedy genre is a new turn. Anyways, Anil Kapoor stole the show with his extraordinary performance. On the other hand, his children seem to be failing in it. Overall, a nice movie with a unique plot that makes it a one time watch.

Bridgerton (2020– )
A refreshing understanding of complicated love but has its flaws.
25 December 2020
The intrigue of Bridgerton comes from its tangled ecosystem of friends, frenemies, suitors, and voyeurs. The most exciting moments often come not from scenes of bombast but in the whispers that shape the season. There are men in this story, all of whom are interesting and often deeply alluring, but this is a show most concerned with the plight and passions of women. It does not feel the need to force high-concept drama or unnecessarily soapy details into their lives to make them interesting. There are romps in the meadows, kisses in the rain, and meddling mothers at tea-time, and it is all executed with such delicate flair that Bridgerton makes the usual fresh again. This is not just a show that takes its own concept seriously: It's one that respects the romance genre as a whole, and I cannot tell you how much of a relief it is to see that, especially given how widely ignored or derided romance novels are by the cultural mainstream. Van Dusen has enough trust in both his source material and the very concept of a Regency romance saga. The show gives every character in this vast ensemble room to breathe and the attention their unique plights deserve. Creator Van Dusen makes Bridgerton's many twists and turns satisfying to the end, even when they're predictable, and the young cast of mostly unknowns brings zip and depth of feeling to material that could otherwise feel slight. There's a charming wink to it all - this is a show that knows exactly what it is, and wears its corset proudly.

We cannot be heroes!
25 December 2020
The movie takes you back to the world of sharkboy and lavagirl but fails to be what we expected it to be. It's a kid movie and they may love it but definitely not for a mature audience. The plot is super predictable and and the CGI is awful. The only good thing about this film is Pedro Pascal.

Make a soap opera instead!
23 December 2020
Seriously shut down shows like Batwoman and Black lightning...like seriously. Wtf am I watching Superhero shows for? Racial and Political bias? I think not! These are just serious waste of money. Other Cw supe shows with potential like Flash and Arrow could have been much better if the amount of effort and money spent on this c*#p would have been taken to those. Also, the creators should check the ratings and reviews before thinking of making another s*#t show like this.

Sad, effective apocalyptic drama and certainly not as dashing and spirited as Clooney's previous projects.
22 December 2020
Clooney the director seems to almost be fighting back against potential viewer investment, which makes the final act's melodrama and twists feel all the more manipulative. The scenes set in space are expertly designed, and shot well by Martin Ruhe, but they feel entirely devoid of human emotion (until the final act manipulatively calls for it). There's something so sterile and antiseptic about the space half of this film that it can't maintain viewer interest or sympathy beyond a filmmaking exercise. It has no oxygen and no heartbeat. Most of the time, "The Midnight Sky" drifts like space debris between its three settings-shuttle, Arctic, flashbacks-instead of feeling like it's building momentum. It's like Clooney the director was so concerned about adequately conveying the details of each part of his story that he never broke down the meaning of them or the characters involved. The heart of this movie just isn't there. It's as weightless as space.

Soul (2020)
10/10
Soul is Pixar's crowning achievement.
17 December 2020
Transcending the depths of their most introspective films, every facet of this film comes together beautifully to create an emotional symphony, resulting in a heartbreakingly optimistic narrative that will change the way you view life itself. This has to be a "top three most mature Pixar film" thus far as we are dealing with much more than what my mind could have comprehended at that a young age. Thankfully, the wonderfully written plot is presented in a colorful, visually outstanding, and authentic way. It is given to us in a way that allows us to comprehend it. We are dealing with life, death, before, after, what it means to live, and what changes would you make to how you live. This all feels like too much for kids, but the script allows it all to come together beautifully and the creative storytelling just taps deep into our hearts. The movie may not have the nostalgic impact or laugh-out-loud sense of humor as other Pixar greats do, but "Soul" knocks it out of the park nonetheless. Certain moments can be too playful for it's own good but there's a scene that comes close to rivaling the creation sequence of the Tree of Life, which should tell you how much I love it. Everything from the production design to the score, to the lighting, and the direction are just next level. It's truly unforgettable.

Shines as a welcome dose of perfect golden power suited escapism.
17 December 2020
Jenkins' fast paced direction makes this film an effective comic book movie that leans heavily on wholesomeness and optimism, leaving out any kind of moral ambiguity or nuance for bright colours and popcorn friendly ostentatious action scenes. WW84 is a rare superhero sequel that, for better or rarely worse, carves its own path and finds something joyous, wacky and deeply enjoyable as a result. Gadot has a queenly self-possession and she remains a charismatic presence who wields the lasso with authority. There are some fantastic costumes and some terrific bold performances from a delightful cast specially Pedro Pascal who's talent is being wasted behind the Mandalorian helmet. It's a visually dazzling melodrama that has to hide it's relative disinterest in superpowered showdowns but the movie's in service of a plot that sometimes loses sight of what makes the character so great in the first place. Though the film can't quite reach the heights of the first film, it is still brimming with the same wonder and joy as the previous one beacuse unlike the first the flaws are minor and aren't glaring at you and the movie definitely soars beautifully when it matters the most. Overall, Wonder Woman 1984 is a very hopeful film with hints of sadness and realism especially towards the end and it kinda takes you back into the real world with a much needed message of hope and a sense of optimism, contemplated strongly by the musical score from the legend Hans Zimmer.
