Kept waiting for Vince Vaughn's character to get shot.

Warning: Spoilers
The basic arc of the story had some good elements to it. I enjoyed the exposition and build up. But I was going out of my mind watching Vince Vaughn's character steal the story. 2/3 of the movie is him being extremely annoying. After 10-15 minutes of it I was ready for something else.

The fun is in the details

Warning: Spoilers
Solid "B-movie" with impressive technical cinematography and CGI. I'll review the plot (which is predictable anyways).

1) Skrillex and friends go into the woods to a cabin.

2) They find aliens.

3) Skrillex and friends battle aliens. Some die. The rest get abducted.

4) Skrillex gets an anal probe and dies.

5) The rest die.

Solid entertainment and honestly there is a decent romantic element in the movie. I think the main problem would just be the predictability of it, but there are some good moments that make it worth watching.

That's My Boy (2012)

Hilarious if you have the right attitude

The reviews for the movie are terrible and I went thinking negatively all ready. To be fair, Adam Sandler does act immature and pretty stupid throughout the movie, but lighten up folks. This is an "off-the-rails" type of comedy. Thus, it's R rated for good reason, and there's plenty of cursing without reason, but I laughed hard and often. I actually was doing homework while watching and drooled a little bit on my textbook from laughing so hard. The action in the movie didn't stop.

I wouldn't recommend seeing this movie with your parents. Maybe the movie isn't worth $9 at the theaters either, but if you're bored at home or wanting to rent a movie with some friends, definitely check this movie out! Hilarious.

Couldn't Finish
30 June 2012
Let me say that this is my first movie review. I normally don't feel compelled to write these because I never feel like I have an opinion I think is worth sharing, but for some reason this film just irked me.

The movie has a decent potential based on the synopsis; a troubled young girl in high school living in new york named Lisa is involved in a bus accident that results in the death of a woman. This follows with lawsuits and various blame being tossed around. The movie has a decent start, and really good have turned into something.

After the setup gets going, the film moves very slowly. Messing around with cops, various lawyers do not add to the movie but only waste the audiences time. Not to mention the main character is very hard to like. We see her inability to communicate to society around her without being insulted or getting angry displayed many a time.

I didn't dislike the movie yet until about an hour into the film. I realized even the decent exposition can't makeup for the main flaw of the film. The characters have a lot to say to each other, but very few of the characters have any redeeming qualities. Most of them struggle to communicate with each other. They can't solve problems without screaming for no reason , and even then their problems don't seem to get solved. Understandably, the plot surrounds the death of a woman so naturally the characters are to be on edge. It's painful to watch because the flaw of this movie has little to do with the plot. The characters are just angry and after about an hour of the film, it's hard to feel anything but angry after watching a screen full of characters that can't do anything but scream and get offended. This movie is long too; I had 1 hour left to go of a 2.5 hour movie and I couldn't do it without exploding with frustration. It's not worth it to feel gross for 1 more hour.

Oddly enough, there are a few redeeming qualities of this film, or quirks rather. Namely, what are such accomplished actors as Matt Damon, Mathew Broderick, and Jean Reno doing in such a poor film? None of them get much screen time, but it did make me wonder....
