The Waltons: The Ferris Wheel (1977)
Memorable episode
This is one of the few episodes I specifically remember from childhood. I was approximately the same age as Elizabeth when the show was on the air, and this episode made enough of an impression that it is one of the few I still remember, though I haven't seen it since. Now that I know the season it is in, hopefully I can find it somewhere streaming. Look forward to seeing it again.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Most Excellent, Dudes!
I can think of very few final movies in a trilogy that I can honestly say I enjoyed as much or more than the original two. This is one. The actors are very obviously having fun, and while the story is slightly scattered in spots, it comes together in the end in a very satisfying, smile-inducing way. The brief tribute to George Carlin's Rufus was poignant and beautifully done, in my opinion.
Expecting perfection? You won't find it. Expecting to be entertained? There is much here to bring enjoyment. Thank you, Keanu and Alex, for reminding us how essential it is to Be Excellent To Each Other.
Chuck (2007)
Fantastic show!
I very rarely write reviews, but Chuck begs it. I only wish we had found Chuck when it was actually on the air. We discovered it about a month ago on Netflix, and have binge watched the entire series in that time. It has everything we enjoy: action, romance, a healthy dose of comedy. excellent acting and writing, and great guest stars. The acting is top-notch, from the leads to the bit parts. An all-around great show that we would highly recommend. My husband and I both enjoyed it, equally. My only regret at watching the show was having to see it end (though the ending was extremely well done, in my personal opinion).
Unlike many shows, Chuck knows how to poke fun at itself, and does it to perfection. Definitely a show we will watch over and over again. Only minor caveat - if you are watching with young children, you will want to censor somewhat, as it does have adult situations that may not be appropriate for youngsters.
Eureka (2006)
Great sci-fi television!
Eureka is one of the best science fiction TV shows currently out there. It has a lot of humor and intelligence, which is unusual for this genre, to say the least. It is one of the very few shows left on TV, science fiction or otherwise, that we actually sit down and watch every week.
Each actor is well-cast, and everyone does a good job with well-written scripts. In just the first few episodes, they have pulled in some of the best actors available today, including, just as an example, Matt Frewer (Max Headroom, for those who remember that great show).
Definitely worth giving a chance to, even if you are not a big science fiction fan. Unfortunately, cable is a requirement, as it is on the Sci Fi channel.
