All the King's Men (2006)
Simple story told in complex way
As a foreigner with not much ideas about U.S. history and politics, I have watched this movie with no bias and quite some problems to understand many phrases of Southern accents (which are quite fascinating on their own). However, it appeared to me as an interesting and pretty complex political story of the usual fight between rich and poor, honesty and false promises, racism, corruption... you name it. Even though the movie can catch one's attention for its full running time, some of the desired tension and drama are missing, and much of the final outcome is quite predictable. Overall, it's certainly no Oscar candidate, but also doesn't deserve low ratings as some (politically motivated) users distribute.
Snakes on a Plane (2006)
Look mom... I can say "fuck"!
I have been using IMDb for years now, but always felt unmotivated to post my comments. "Snakes on a Plane" finally made me sign up here and tell the world that this movie sucks worse than anything I've ever seen so far. The jokes are that of adolescent boys (focussed on genitalia, anal humor and cussing). All the rest is based on stereotypes: blacks are fat rappers, blondes are dumb bitches, British are posh snobs
etc. In addition to that, there is no plot whatsoever and everything is 100% predictable except the few times you get shocked by surprisingly loud sound bursts. I've wasted 1.5 hours on this crap already, so I'm not wasting even more time writing up a longer detailed review. Read the others with one star, they say it all ;) Greetings, Kaswoj
