Book Club: The Next Chapter (2023)
Book Club: Spectacularly Unspectacular
The greatness of these 4 actresses' cannot be forgotten when watching this film eventhough they themselves seem to haven't forgotten how to be great. If only this picture was produced during a writers strike to have a legit reason to understand why the writing was so flat. The jokes were telegraphed a mile away and the twists and turns were predictable. All in all it's a bland paste in the entertainment world that won't change your life. It is the elevator music of movies. In this elevator ride you are forced to make every stop on the way to the higher floor. Regardless it was great to see the gals get after it one more time and I sadly admit that I'd watch a "Last Chapter" if this becomes the trilogy no one saw coming. Don Johnson and Andy Garcia shine in their respective time on screen.
My Nightmare Landlord (2020)
Poor Casting
This movie is proof that the casting director thinks if you cast your entire movie with 40 something acts you can actually fool the audience into thinking that this is what your 20s look like. In that same logic, he tasks a 50s something actress to play an over the top geriatric, which is more offensive then the former crime.
