The series based on the book "Dongri to Dubai - Six decades of mumbai Mafia". The series is captivating and keeps you hooked from the start. Besides the script the performance of the cast elevates the series. The direction by Shujaat is good as it captures Dongri, the gangs that are spread across mumbai and the relationship between the various characters. The story is told from the point of view of Ismail kadri so the treatment is different focussing on the relationship though the gangwars are picturised well.
The star of the show is obviously Kay Kay who as usual comes up with another amazing performance. He lights up the screen every time he is on frame and we feel his predicament, helplessness and despair in his eyes as he sees his family slipping into a life of crime.
He is supported well with some fine performances from he whole cast who are top notch, some notable mentions are: Nivedita as Sakina is superb as the wife who is torn between her husband and sons.
Kritika as Habiba was a revelation. She has a very strong screen presence and is perfect for the role.
Avinash as Dara - gets into the character rights from the initial days of his life in crime and as he goes on to become the king challenging his enemies.
Jitin as Sadique as Daras brother is equally good specially the emotional sequence in the end.
Saurabh as Haji gives good support.
Special mention need to be given to Manthan who plays the younger Dara, Tanaya Khan as Chitra and Chotu.
