We need more Rom coms with non conventional treatment
3 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly I didn't like the trailer or music much.

I only went because I wanted to watch Naveen Polishetty and Anushka being a couple and I was in for the fun ride.

First 10-15 min was okay. When Naveen finally entered the scene, that's when the movie took off.

Comedy yes! Fun!

Anvita wants to have a baby through a sperm donor and she finds Sidhu to be suitable. But he falls in love with her.

What I most liked about this movie is it's very clear why they like each other. Why he fell for her. It's not this regular I saw her and went after her or stalked her and just fell in love cause she's the main lead.

She didn't fall for him because he did something amazing to impress her.

They are both adults who realized they like each other and eventually got to know enough to feel that love.

WE NEED MORE SUCH MATURED LOVE STORIES!

Unlike some recent movies *kushi* where he just sees her and literally harasses her till she says okay by doing "great gestures". When will Telugu stories stop doing this?

At the end Anvita will go through the process of having a kid without changing her mind. That's clarity and confidence in a person we need. She didn't go back to the conventional ways where now that she fell in love she will take a traditional path. No that's not her character.

The characters throughout this movie stayed consistent keeping the audience actively interested and also feel for them.

Songs were good as well. Not so striking but I keep listening to them now since I loved the context so much.

Special appreciation to Mr Polishetty for caring about the audience. He never ever takes up a role where he stalks a girl and tries to impress her superficially. I love him for bringing in some responsibility as well. So fed up of stars still making such movies. Thank you Naveen!

Could be different plot but nothing to like here
29 August 2022
I thought it was going to be a fun movie.

This is made for very basic surface level movie watchers who can't predict anything.

This movie is hella predictable and yet confusing as to why things were happening to this lady.

Also it could have been an interesting plot to see she gets pregnant but chooses to either keep the baby and the other to not.

When she's not pregnant what's there to watch anyway. Nothing impactful happened.

If she's gotten pregnant and decided not to keep it and moved to LA that's a changed person who made a tough choice. Missed out on a chance there.

The actors did their part well but it's not even a movie to pass time.

How can they not see a problem with their own story?
12 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Every review here mostly says it was a waste of money and it is true. There was no need to spend so much for this story.

They need to understand that if only a plot needs money it looks good to spend on one.

My main problem with the movie was Vikramaditya being a palmist predicted several people's future including Indira Gandhi that she will declare an Emergency in India.

But at the end he believes that whatever his "amazing" work of palmistry was till now is nothing but crap and people can write their own future. But what about his whole identity of being a fortune teller?

The director must think audience are idiots and will watch anything if it looks expensive.

Prabhas looked like a photoshopped version of himself because of over processing of the movie.

Pooja hegde can't act. So get ready for some bizzare emotional scenes that are comedic rather than moving.

And seriously Bhagya sree could have been Prabhas' sister than mother. We are not living in the 70's or 80's to cast young female as moms.

This movie is an insult to Golden retrievers.
23 April 2022
Dear movie makers, I understand that you don't have to have knowledge about everything in the world.

But every person in the universe know that golden retriever breed dogs are the least ferocious and the most common family dog breed ever.

People also joke about how they allow burglars to come in.

This movie is an insult to Golden retrievers.

Okay, let's imagine this dog was a killer dog.

But the dog you actually casted in it was nothing but cute.

It doesn't even make an angry face.

And the music playing for the dog as if it's a dinosaur is absolutely hilarious.

I gave you the stars only because I enjoyed seeing this beautiful dog.

I love you doggy!!!!

Thanks.

Orange movie another version but still horrible.
20 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Movie starts with ugly stereotypes about people born in foreign countries. Translated to English: "She was born to a white mom, so she's like this" referring how a colleague forces herself on him.

Girls "should" adjust. He needs someone who will adjust nonsense.

When an opposing character, Vibha is introduced as a standup comedian I wondered how they will define a relationship. But it was more than disappointing. First of all it's a joke in itself she's a standup comedian. Second, they tried to portray her as a very clear person and protesting against patriarchy and standard societal expectations. But that wasn't defined anywhere properly.

First off is okay with the introductions of all the characters.

Second half is nothing but a filler. Also what's up with the new girl who sends parents to speak about their wedding already? Who does that?

Anyway, second half is more useless than first half.

The whole movie stands on a premise that relationships could be more than what society expects and tells us. But that wasn't defined ever.

There's some non sense monologue at the end in the name of stand up comedy.

Nothing about this movie is interesting.

Orange movie also was based on some premise like this but it wasn't explained enough.

On a side note, I missed pooja hedge's voice. She has a great voice and someone else filled it for her in this movie.

Authentic, Non patriarchal and clever chaotic
15 August 2021
Naveen Polishetty! I have known him since a long time. I think he's been already entertaining people through his YouTube videos.

I know his input for this movie was a lot.

I give credit to him and I am genuine extremely happy to see him being recognized by his own people.

Coming to the movie: To the people who seem to not understand the kind of comedy or why there's no proper screenplay or why the story seems so chaotic, I just want to say, this chaos was all well planned.

They intended it exactly.

It's their characters that make us laugh. Jokes are silly but they are intended to be!

The one amazing part I love about this movie is the lack of patriarchy. The unconventional choices. The actress is probably taller than him or the same height which never ever happens in Telugu films. Even if it does they try to hide it.

The subtle take on women's choices, subtle display about consent (not stalking the lady).

It is very cleverly concealed in the name of silly comedy.

Being tired of watching the same old "I am the hero, so the lady will eventually fall for me" narrative, this movie is a fresh take.

You might miss out on jokes if you don't pay attention for a few minutes.

There are a few boring aspects for sure. But I am willing to neglect them for the aspects that compensated for them.

No this is not your regular formula movie where you ll have everything spoon fed on why some things were happening.

I want to close this review by saying that there is talent all over. Probably amongst our friends. Naveen and others in this movie are the example of making it big after years of struggle.

Loved it!

I gave those 2 stars for Amala Paul.
14 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Good: Amala Paul.

Horrible: It's a narration about how women shouldn't "misuse" their freedom. How they should be in their "limits". The director used free the nipple movement for some reason. I don't think he actually understands the intent of it.

It's about making choices not just wanting to be naked.

Please do not attempt movies under the name of women empowerment and depict that even women empowerment have limitations. It's ridiculous.

It's annoying and simply seems uneducated about important social issues.

Also sad to see that director thinks "honor" is the most important thing to a woman than her life. And she can't seek help even from police because "men are men" concept. Really horrible to see this attitude being justified.

Movie making: Good cinematography, music and the build up for the story.

Watching this in 2020. I feel the same emotions and the thrill
30 September 2020
Greatest movie ever. Haters say otherwise. I was 8 years old when I watched this movie. It was voiced in my regional language Telugu (language spoken in South Indian state Andhra Pradesh). I will never forget the experience of watching the wholesome adventures. I still keep watching it and the nostalgia factor is pretty high. 2020 and I don't feel any different than how I felt when I was 8.

Disappointing and stereotypical
23 August 2020
One of the unique actresses in Indian film industry is Vidya Balan. But somehow she failed to impress me in this movie. About the movie? This is just another attempt to showcase their bad narrative Bollywood dramas in the name of a biopic. Most of all I hated the fake accent Vidya put on. I understand it's meant to be for Hindi audience, but it doesn't mean they need to exaggerate the "South Indian Hindi" accent especially when they intended to made in Hindi but why the accent? It's really awkward to hear her drag her words and letters intentionally to make it sound South Indian. I watched the real legend Shakuntala Devi's interview and she was as normal as anyone we hear everyday.

When will Bollywood stop stereotyping other cultures? This movie wasn't Chennai express made for entertainment purposes was it? Then why was it called a biopic?

Another thing. The only theme of the movie was how she fought against sexism and no way in those times such bizarre conversations ever happened. Creative liberties weren't used for the good here.

Bollywood! Please stick to some student of the year or judwaa 2 content or borrow some stories from already successfully made South Indian movies. Do not ruin the chances of good biopics.
