American Horror Stories: Dollhouse (2022)
Season 2, Episode 1
7/10
Interestingly not bad
21 August 2022
Season 1 of this series was truly awful. Every episode scores lower than a 5/10 for me. I had heard from others that this one was heaps better, so I gave it a shot. In a mostly failing genre, modern horror anthology, this was a good outing. Having not seen regular AHS, the ending didn't make sense, but nonetheless, this episode has a decent enough story with decent enough acting and pacing.

One of the least funny comedies ive ever seen
13 August 2022
I didnt laugh once this film, its truly some of the worst ive seen. The acting isn't terrible, its mid at best, but the script and directing are such garbage it makes the actors look like complete amateurs. The jokes were stale then and sure as hell stale now. This film is a waste, waste of time, waste of space, waste of a movie. Awful.

Good episode with terrible ending
14 March 2022
This episode starts off pretty great. It has a good setup, perfect pacing, and good mystery in the first half. However, the ending is really bad. Its corny and feels straight out of Goosebumps. Although it may be terrible, it doesn't quite ruin the episode as a whole for me, it just lowers the score by a couple of points.

Great show that ended too early
5 March 2022
This show is quality. It actually made me laugh and the music is kick-ass. The music segments and the show segments are balanced perfectly, and the best I've seen when compared to similar cases. They actually connect together. I'm sad that this show is so short, and if there were more episodes, I could've given this show an even higher score. There's just too little to judge. This show also has unique editing and cinematography, almost as if you were watching a public access show. It gives it a unique feel. I definitely recommend this show to any comedy fan, as its short and you could watch all the episodes in about an hour and a half.

Awesome episode

This episode takes the boring obsessive fan trope and turns it around (literally). The song at the end is also one of best performances of one of their best songs.

Blew My Expectations Away

I wanted to hate this movie, along with all the other inspirational sports movies I had to painfully endure in my school years. This one ended up being different. It was subtle, and not obnoxiously intense or dramatic. It had real heart, and a good setup that strayed from the norm. The humor actually wasn't too bad either. This genuinely impressed me. Would recommend for any family setting.

Top Tier Episode
31 January 2022
In a show with way more horrible episodes than there should be, this one manages to be simple yet effective. It's fairly repetitive, but each time said event take places, you are legitimately curious and cautious at the same time at what will happen next.

Ruined Potential
31 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode used to scare me as a kid, but looking back at it now.... it's not so good. The acting, editing, and sound design are all pretty bad. However, I do see potential in this episode. The premise and monster are promising, and the ending is exceptionally creepy. Unfortunately, this doesn't make up for the stuff this episode severely lacks.

Solid episode
8 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is one of the first big advancements in Sheldon and Amys relationship. This episode is well written and there's always a solid joke to laugh at. My favorite part is Leanord, Howard, and Raj getting sucked into the "Mystic Warlords of Ka'a" game against their better judgment and buying all the expansion packs.

Best season 1 episode
8 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is my favorite episode of the season, and one of the best of the series. The ambition behind this episode really pays off. Lois' speech towards the end is perfectly acted and really shakes you. The Francis pool game plot is one of the most clever storylines I've seen in a sitcom. I have nothing but praise for this episode.

weak-ish episode
7 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I found this episode to have a great premise, but it falls apart in execution. The A plot with the cushion provides some laughs here and there but ends up feeling monotonous towards the end. As for the B plot, I don't find Howard and Leslie interesting at all. This episode is passable, but overall meh.

One of the best season 3 episodes
5 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the strongest episodes of season 3. This episode starts a new trope that is carried throughout the series, Hal and his friend's playing poker. It is absolute genius to have the climactic Hal vs Abe game eventually turn into Malcolm vs Stevie. Even the Francis plot is one of the funniest in its season. The final scene is brilliant and satisfying.

Great episode with masterful flow
5 January 2022
This episode is hilarious and witty. It flows well and feels half the length of what it actually is. It juggles all 4 of its plots effortlessly, and it's all capped off with your typical melancholy yet beautiful ending. Life is unfair.

Great, well written episode
29 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Yet another great episode. This is the first episode to feature Lois' parents, Ida and Victor. Unfortunately, this is the one and only appearance of Victor, as his character was killed off after this. This episode is brilliant, and it feels like every line and gag has been built up from a previous line or gag. This is a classic, from the opening to the memorable climax and ending.

Kind of a mess
24 December 2021
This episode a small step above being bad. The pacing was rushed and sloppy, and not in a good way as nothing interesting really happens. However, there are some things that save this episode. First, the acting was pretty good. Second, they made the villian semi-interesting with his health complications, adding depth. Overall, not that good.

Good underrated episode

Based on imdb episode ratings, I think this episode needs to have a higher score. This episode has unique directing for the series, and amazing exposition and plot building. The twist is a classic and makes the whole episode that much better.

This episode is disturbing.... disturbingly bad
11 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode hurts my brain. It has all of the funny absurd moments you'd expect a typical humorous Darkside episode, but this one actually tries to take itself seriously and wants to be scary. Leave the serious tone to serious episodes like Inside the Closet and The Circus, not for this crap.

Great episode
16 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is the episode where we get to see what its like to live with Craig, and its not pretty. In fact, this episode paints Craig is in a really negative light, being a jerk basically all the way through. It's also interesting to point out that the boys would've been golden if they had just worked together and put their differences aside. Alas, they can not, even when its something they can all connect with.

Fun and suspenseful tale
15 July 2021
I didnt expect much from this episode in first third. Ive seen similar premises done in horror before. Stuff where the protagonist hears voices and cuts off or mutilates their ears to get the sounds to stop. I can say without a doubt, THIS pulls off that trope the best. It perfectly balances horror and real suspense/unease, and the main actor gives a 110% performance.

One of the funniest episodes
15 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the most consistently funny episodes in the series. Watching Malcolm, Reese, and Hal run around the military base is unrelentingly fun to watch. It shows Season 2 and future seasons willingness to embrace the wackier plots that season 1 was mostly void of. I also have to bring up the brilliant one take scene of Francis and Craig walking around the house managing to not see each other.

Great episode with neat cinematography
15 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This the first episode where Malcolm's and Stevie's parents meet. You can really see the beginning stages of Abe and Hals friendship start to form when they are at the bar sharing problems. Though the parents dynamics would later be fleshed out and done better in episodes like Carnival, this is a great start. There are also neat camera shots in this episode like seeing Stevie hold up the circle through the fish tank and seeing Stevie get punched over and over again in the background of a shot.

Similar to Bowling, this is an episode with a perfectly executed creative concept. It hits home towards the end of the episode when Lois realizes that boy or girl, there's no escape. At least there is a sweet ending to compensate.

Really good episode with great soundtrack
5 June 2021
Though the shortest episode in the series, it still delivers the highest of quality as to be expected from a season 2 episode of Malcolm In The Middle. The penultimate scene is one the funniest scenes in the show, and it wraps up the A plot in absolute best and most creative way possible. This is also one of the episodes where the B plot is even better than the A!

Hilarious episode with a thoughtful ending
5 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was the first episode of Malcolm In The Middle I ever watched. This is a great episode, showing the boys all working together on one plan nicely, unlike episodes like Mini Bike. One of my favorite nuances in this episode is Francis arriving at logging camp thinking Eric is too emotional, only to succumb down to his level after quickly realizing how bad the conditions are.
