Queen played with our hearts too
28 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Wow! I wasn't expecting this finale. It was mind-blowing. I would like to stand out the actors and actresses' performances, all of them are great in this final episode. But what was more impressive to me was the emotional rollercoaster this episode gave me. It's hard to see television like that nowadays (especially on Netflix).

That 30 minutes where Arisu can't stop imagining about that fantasy the Queen wants him to believe... Wow! There is no question why the Queen of Hearts was the ultimate villain. How difficult it was to get out of that 'trance' for Arisu. And how difficult was -for me at least- not to believe in anything she's saying! Shout out to the actress who plays her, excellent!

I know this is based on a manga (ofc I haven't read it), but the creators actually outdid themselves with the ending. Especially considering what a 'marvel-esc' episode 2x07 was. It all made a bit more sense now.

So, basically, British=good Russians=bad
9 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Such a blinded vision of history. Yes, ALL revolutions are tough but it's not 100% necessary to show the atrocities that happened during the Bolshevik revolution in 1917. You know why? Because you are doing a show that doesn't need it. Just show a scene where the Romanovs are killed and done, or something like that. It wasn't necessary to do it THAT explicit. It feels nuanced because Peter Morgan and the producers never felt the necessity of showing the atrocities THE UNITED KINGDOM committed across THE ENTIRE PLANER (yes, during Elizabeth II reign). Doesn't colonialism, imperialism and interventionism ring a bell for all of you? Why not to show any of that? Why trying so hard to show a good impression of something so rotten as the British monarchy?

Nunca Más (from Argentina...)
2 October 2022
This is such a necessary movie because we live in a time where it seems that negationist, fascist and authoritarian speeches are in fashion. You may think that the beginning starts slow, but you must keep watching if you want to discover what's truly beautiful about Santiago Mitre's tale.

You'll quickly realise what a Tour de Force Argentina 1985 is. Everything works out in a sense that you can find scenes in the picture that are funny, but not imprudent to what the picture is trying to show, scenes that are horrendous but are treated respectfully towards the victims and their families. You'll laugh, you'll cry, but mostly you'll feel anxious and powerless. That's the idea. The idea of being uncomfortable about the stories of the victims of our last civic-military-ecclessiastical-business (& we also don't forget: financed by the United States) dictatorship. Their stories must be heard, that's all we can give them.

Don't Worry Darling (I) (2022)

You may worry darling
21 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was so confusing. Despite all the hate and controversy surrounding this picture, I decided to go to the cinema. I came back being more interested about the 'Miss Flo' v Olivia Wilde v Shia LaBeouf v Harry Styles v Chris Pine conflict than the movie itself.

Here are some complains I have about it:
  • Why did Shelley (Frank's wife) kill her husband? Just because it was a movie about women killing their husbands? Because it looked 'bitchy'? It is never explicit that Shelley had doubts about her stay at the algorythm.

  • What the algorythm actually is? How does it work?

  • Why would Frank create that world? Does he become richer or powerful in the real world? Just because of fun? Because of the crazy idea of being the leader of a digital world? The movie sins too much trying to put Frank in the position of a Marvel villain, he could have been so much interesting and complex.

  • While Florence Pugh is outstanding (as usual), I'm not buying Harry (is he an actor?), sorry directioners.

  • In general, the movie tries very hard to focus into so many subjects that gets way out of hand. Technology, feminism (or masculin opression), gender roles, happiness, children, marriage, mental health: Everything Everywhere All At Once.

A mess.

Thank you for making Alpha come to life in such a complex way. I hope we are able to see her again in the TWD Universe. Since she was introduced in the mid-season 9 premiere she became one of the most interesting characters on the show, and this episode does not disappoint.

Game of Talking

95% of this episode is nonsensical dialogues. Season 7 is atrocious compared to the previous ones. They even ended it with a cliffhanger! You want more of this already-7-seasons-long war of the living against the dead?? Wait for another season! Every action is simply out of character, too fast paced, boring, irrelevant. 6/10 are because of music, visual effects and setting.

Awful. Hopefully, they don't produce 4 & 5
16 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is, by far, the worst Harry Potter Cinematic Universe movie. The whole movie feels unimportant, even that last scene (where conflict should be resolved) felt rushed and sloppy. I love Mads Mikkelsen but GOD how I've missed Johnny Deep.... he was THE star of this saga.

We get to see how a magic criature choses the most important position in the magic world. Why?? We just don't know why, we just present you a weird animal and we make it look like it's important.

The conflict between Dumbledore and Grindelwald felt like they were an old marriage trying to get a divorce. It was so lame! I wanted to see action, spells! Not endless dialogues without meaning... There is something else. People had a good few laughs at the cinema. I don't know if it's only me but, when I go to the cinema to watch a HP movie, I DON'T WANT TO LAUGH, I wanna see action, drama, powerful fights. Insted, in this movie we have some silly moments (mostly by Jacob -Dan Fogler come back to The Walking Dead-) just so kids can laugh. The script was atrocious.

A fantastic argentinian-spanish movie
24 March 2022
I think I've never laughed in the cinema as hard as I did today. The three performances were incredible, Penelope Cruz was the most impressive because I saw her in a completely different character from what she normally does. But Oscar Martínez and Antonio Banderas are also fantastic and extremely funny. Their feud during the film shows, in a very clever way, how directors usually deal with actors and actresses' egos.

Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn are truly the best filmakers Latin America can offer. Their films are exquisite. Bravo!

One of the best movies of 2021. "The dirtier the better"
10 January 2022
Definitely a must watch. 4 of the best performances I've ever seen in my life, seriously, acting weirdly gets better than this. I truly want to recognize that this is an independent film, with no millionaire budget and special effects, just with what cinema truly is: the art of emotion. Thanks Fran Kranz for putting some light into a very dark subject: mass school shootings, certainty a topic that the US society must address it as a whole.

Please I hope Ann Dowd gets an Oscar for this, if she doesn't I really don't know what someone has to do to get one. In fact, Jason Isaacs, Martha Plimpton and Reed Birney all deserve Oscar nominations. Fran Kranz should also be nominated for his powerful script, any actor should be pleased to work with those monologues.

Her acting here is amazing. Even though I'm not loving this season (especially Laura's character, who is super forced), this episode about Bradley actually worked. I liked her scenes with Cory and her brother in the hotel... It's important we have some more background on her. I really like her character.

The Power of Cinema (Mar del Plata's 2021 Film Festival)
25 November 2021
Despite having to think -a lot- about the film's ending, I loved it. Jane Campion really thought out of the box. I found it super interesting, and I'll always be willing to support movies with smart plot twists, just like this one. Kristen Dunst is outstanding, I couldn't turn my eyes away from her. Benedict Cumberbatch (pls now give him a heterosexual part) portrays THE cowboy, just what you would have expected of him. Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smith-McPhee are also great.

Yes, despite having a very slowly first half, I was completely submerged in the movie, and that's because of the fantastic script and direction. I must also mention the COSTUME DESIGN!!! Those clothes... super realistic and beautiful. Great job.

For the very first time: I cried during a World Beyond episode, unimaginable
10 November 2021
Natalie Gold (Lyla) is fantastic. That scene when she talks about her family, wow! The script! The TWD Universe has always casted the best actors and actresses.

I also agree with the ones who say 'More Jadis, less Iris'. What an annoying character for Christ sake. Jadis has become such an interesting character since we last saw her on TWD's 9x05. I hate Huck, and I know the actress can't stop making those ugly faces (which are very annoying) but her character has had some good development. She'll probably die in the season finale, as some sort of 'redemption'.

This show has been doing it really good these last episodes... I hope it keeps that way. I hated the first season, but this one is so much better...

Yes!! Finally
4 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this episode, from start to finish, something that has never happened with a TWD:WB episode. Real tension here. The music worked fantastically, and that post-credit scene was amazing!! Finally we got to see Pollyanna McIntosh's Jadis/Anne from TWD, I really hope we are close to see some Rick content.

Ironically, Iris wasn't cringe in this episode, and Silas wasn't annoying like he usually is. I do hope some of them die, we need to see some more violent content in this show...

El Prófugo/The Intruder (2020) esp/eng
22 October 2021
Vayan a verla! 8/10.

The Intruder was selected as the picture that will represent Argentina in the 'Best Foreign Film' at the 2022 Oscars. Despite some slow script parts, and a very weird editing, The Intruder is a truly great horror picture, a movie that will absolutely play with your mind, at any time. Érica Rivas is fantastic in her role, she portrays a very shady character in the most empathetic way (besides, for 2nd consecutive year her picture is selected at the Oscar-contender). Cecilia Roth is (as usual) amazing too. 8/10.

A very dark and nail-biting episode. But I'm so done with cliffhangers.
5 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I liked this first finale of this eleventh season. The plot of Meridian and the Reapers made me remember of the war with the Governor in season 4. But just enough of cliffhangers, AMC still hasn't llearned and it pisses me off. Bunch of thieves. I must say the acting on TWD is still very good, Jesus Lynn Collins is absolutely amazing, I really hope she continues in the show, love her!

On the other hand we have the Alexandria's storyline, I also liked this one but I do believe Aaron and Carol deserved more screen time in this episode, they are barely on it. This part is owned by Christian Serratos and Cailey Fleming (two fantastic actresses), real tension there too!

I cried because of Cailey Fleming.
16 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What a fantastic actress. Her scene with Rosita/Christian Serratos is gut-wrenching. So is Melissa McBride's acting, but we already know that.

DISCLAIMER: for those who are very angry about the show for not getting enough 'action' let me remind you this is a DRAMA series (we need character development, people paying about their actions and human conflict) this isn't some Marvel or DC bulls***. Please go watch Spiderman or something, go away!!!

In episode 11x05 'Out of the Ashes' we get to see every plot about this last season. We get to see Maggie and Negan's conflict, we see Carol and the Alexandria's group searching for food, Eugene and The Commonwealth and finally, Judith and Rosita getting things in shape at home. Episode 11x06 looks VERY promising, hope it doesn't disappoint us...

Everything's getting together real fast! We are only 3 episodes left to the end of part 1 of Season 11. #sad.

Three Plot Holes Outside Ebbing, Missouri
8 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed this movie, but the fact I enjoyed it doesn't overshadow the difficulties this movie had.

Frances McDormand and (specially) Sam Rockwell are fantastic. They both deserved those Oscars. So do the rest of the cast.

The movie had some issues with the consequences to the characters' actions. No reprisals were taken when Mildred burned down the police station, or when mr. Dixon beats the s*** out of that kid... I could go on. Despite all of this, I think it is a great movie, worth-watching.

LOVED the MOVIE - DIDN'T LIKE the LEAD ACTOR
8 September 2021
I think I might be the only person in the planet who thinks this but, I found Casey Affleck suuuper boring and unemotional. It is very sad because I really wanted to enjoy 100% this picture, but I couldn't because of him.

However, Olivia Williams is outstanding, as always. And Lucas Hedges did it pretty good too. The cinematography and script work fantastically here... so there goes my 6.5 out of 10.

Pope scares the s*** out of me
8 September 2021
What a fantastic introduction to the Reapers. I think this is an important episode, not just to introduce this new group to the show, but also because it makes episode 10x18 ('Find Me') even more important (I personally enjoyed that one a lot). Lynn Collins and Ritchie Coster are amazing in this episode. So do the cinematography (better and better) and the soundtrack, Bear McCreary has always done an amazing job.

'Rendition' is full of drama and action moments... I thinks it is much better than the previous episode, 11x03 'Hunted'.

I hope the show keeps raising the bar higher and higher, we only deserve that for the last season.

REAL DRAMA IN TWD IS BACK! Maggie's episode.
31 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I just came here to say: thanks god Lauren Cohan is back because Maggie's adding something SUPER necessary to the show. That scene when she decides to not help that guy (who ended up dying in a very tragic way) is AMAZING, that's the kind of scenes I personally would like to see more of in the show, real drama, believable drama. I also would like to point Alden's behavior there... I think it's great for the show to generate different sides of a particular situation.

Also, that scene when Maggie explains why she came back 'harder' or 'colder' is fantastic. Not only for her acting but for the scary story itself.

Despite the episode had some slow parts, I liked Acheron Part I & (especially) Part II... Great way to start this final season.

Btw: I'll watch the whole season ilegally because here in Latin America they won't broadcast the show anymore... They've always cared about the money, nothing else, remember that.

The Kingdom (2021–2023)

Como argentino, me mata escribir esto. Horrible. Temporada 1
31 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers

3) ALGUNAS actuaciones, no todas.

No entiendo.

Michonne murdering those kids ... Real drama
28 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a heartbreaking episode (that last scene with their hug!!), a proof of Michonne's anger and mistrust during the second part of season 9. Besides being beautifully portrayed by Danai Gurira and Cailey Fleming, the script MAKES SENCE. It gives us an explanation of what really happened during that six years' time jump in episode (9x05) What Comes After, after Rick's exit.

This is what makes TWD a great show, showing extremely hard-to-watch moments...that no other drama on TV will ever show.

Not pushy enough.
7 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Let's be clear here. We have a bunch of people (former leaders of this bloody organizations) talking about what the horrible 'ex-gay' movement did to them, which is something undeniable. Horrible things have been made in God's name, including this 21st Century anti-gay fascists groups, we all know that. But what actually pisses me off is the lack of remorse some of this people show. I want you to question something to yourself: What about those who are no longer with us? What about the ones who took their own life because they couldn't take it anymore? Who will pay for them? I'm sorry, but crying isn't enough. This may be (some sort of) a beggining, but it isn't enough. And I do think there will always be blood on their hands.

Btw. US people: you have a serious problem with this situation. 2021 and you still have 0 legislation that forbid converted therapy, people preaching for ex-gay movements, etc. Clock's ticking, lives are at stake. Act now.
