OUTSTANDING
26 April 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I have owned the import home version of this movie for years, and I still paid the $9 to see it in the movie theater when it later came out in I believe 1999,2000(?) under the title "Legend of the Drunken Master" (the English version)

This movie is the epitomy of what a Jackie Chan movie is all about. Fantastic fight sequences, somewhat funny, decent story line, and much better film quality. A huge step up from the first Drunken Master film from 1978.

***Potential Spoiler***

The 3 main fights in this movie are the train fight, the Jackie-verses-250-guys-with-axes fight, and the eye-popping finale. The spits fire, bubbles, and falls into a burning coal pit for goodness sakes (applauds).

If I had to choose only one Chan movie to watch in my life this one would be it.

Carnival
23 August 2002
The Carnival Scene in Mortal Thoughts was actually filmed in a small-time amusement park in Scotch Plains, New Jersey called Bowcraft. The park is still in operation today and is better than ever. Ironically the Ferris Wheel that appears on the cover of the movie has since been removed due to the death of a child a few years back.

A great idea, materialized
25 July 2001
First off I am a fellow NJ video maker (wannabe) and it was Kevin's Smith's movies that got me inspired to make a movie with my friends. I am in the process of putting it together now. This movie was intelligent, well written, killer dialogue, and cheap!! A great stepping stone for what was to come in the future (Mallrats, Chasing Amy,Dogma and soon to be Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back.) I higher recommend it to anyone wishing they could make a movie, but think it is impossible. Feel free to e-mail for anything, if you live in northern jersey and want to take part in my film e-mail me
