The Beatles on Record (2009 TV Movie)

Excellent Cliff Notes on Beatle History & Music
30 December 2010
This is a FANTASTIC doco for anyone who doesn't have the time to get through the entire "Anthology." Great footage (lots of stuff not seen before "Anthology"), Great new interviews (though mostly voice-over), Great music (of course), and Lots of behind-the-music style info from George Martin. If you're newly arrived on our planet (first of all: "Welcome!") and know nothing about the Beatles then "On Record" is the PERFECT introduction. ("The Compleat Beatles" is really good, too, but a bit dated now.) In fact, the only reason I'm writing a review here on IMDb is because this was the first website to come up on my search to find "The Beatles On Record" on DVD! 20 out of 10 stars!

So Far So Good
11 February 2007
I'm about half-way through "Air Force" on my Tivo. It's really, really good so far. I'll keep you posted. Using their typical "special needs child" logic, IMDb says (for some reason) that I need 10 lines of comments, so please excuse me when I say again that "Air Force" (so-far) is really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, good. This makes 11 lines, so hopefully it'll get in. Happy, IMDb? Now go drink your juice and take a nap.

Is it just me, or...?
29 September 2006
Does anyone remember "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," the great TV series starring Scott Bakula and Maria Bello? About the (albeit pretending-to-be) married spies? If anyone knows how this writer was able to get away with ripping that off I'd like them to read MY screenplay: "Friends," about a group of friends living in, uh... Chicago! Enjoy the Big Screen antics of, um... Rass, Bachel, Moebe, Blandler, Bonica, and Joey. You'll laugh, you'll cry when these "Friends" struggle to get by. But when each one tells the other, "I'll be there for... um... Stu, our never-seen friend," you'll know that things will always work out for the best! Seriously, if it's okay to steal an entire television series and turn it into an "original" movie, then Hollywood must be a very untrustworthy place indeed. Oh. Right. Nevermind.

Brainwarp (2003 Video)

Makes "public access" look like "PBS." This might be the stupidest thing I've ever seen on TV. It reminds me of the stuff my son is doing for his 8th grade Video Class. Holy Macaroni, this "Hoffman" guy must have called in every single chit he had in Hollywoodland. Really? You know Paget Brewster and THIS is what you make her act in? I have a feeling these "ironic" improv actors might claim "we meant to do that!" but trust me, this is legitimate crap. I think I saw my grandma waving in the background. God only knows what cruise she might have thought she was on. If this is something you're wasting your rare "movie night" on, please replace it with something "actually" funny, like "Lancelot Link."
