Gigantic (1999)

what shall i say what hasn't been said so far. "absolute Giganten" is one of my all-time favorite flicks. This movie has everything, it deals with great friendship, melancholy, a lot of fun, tragic and love. The imagery is beautiful, the spare dialogues rock. Its set in Hamburg, and i can't imagine any other place that would have worked out that well with the plot and the feeling. Great actors as well, "DULLE, DULLE, DULLE" ;)

I envy all the people who haven't seen it so far, because they can experience it the first time. So go and watch it.

p.s. on october,26 2006 schippers second movie will hit the screen - "Ein Freund von mir"

Let the Cat Out of the Bag (2005)

a great watch without lengths!

Doris and Karl meet in a train, where they share a department. And although they fit together, they don't find together until the end. Doris, who works at a karaoke bar, has a strange relationship to a older man. Karl is on the run, he seems not to have a home. The plot takes part in one night. Both are too cool to show their feelings to the opposite, the don't let "katz aus dem sack". Its all about karaoke, some sex-driven sisters, Leipzig, Karl and Doris,....

This is a real nice movie, i enjoyed it watching, the play of the main characters is great. Christoph Bach is an amazing actor. 8 out of 10.

Suck My Dick (2001)

strange but worth watching

This is a really strange movie, but still it is very unique. Like most other films that try to be strange, this one really is it. And the cast of characters is well chosen. We have Wolgang Joop as a gay psychiatrist, which gives his debut as an actor. Not to forget the leading actor, edgar selge, who is awesome! The movie deals with the most inner fears of men: being impotent, loosing hairs and teeth. i rate this flick with 7/10. Watch it!

Solino (2002)

Great movie at the end of a perfect day

Well, this in an outrageous flick. I saw it the other day with my girl friend, and both of us were/are very impressed by this movie. The first half, when they just arrive in Germany is very great told.

The young boys play their roles very good, especially the young gigi. He is great! My eyes were wet all the time, its so much feeling that is transmitted through the silver screen. And the music makes this flick perfect. it always supports the unique scenes. Well, i just have to say, GO FOR IT! By the way, Akin is a great director. 9/10

Arlington Road (1999)

a shot to your head

well, this movie was on tv the other day, in the so called montagskino on our german tv. i expected an entertaining and nice movie, but what i got was a very entertaining, excellent, exciting film. this movie easily entered my list of all time favorite film. not only the plot, but the cast of characters are convincing especially tim burton. Arlington road is a great film--WATCH IT!
