Andra sidan (2020)
A big step for Swedish horror movies!
"Andra sidan" is a pretty basic haunted house horror movie with good fundamentals.
Dilan Gwyn does a great job as the lead role, she and the rest of the actors creates a trustworthy and believable environment.
The sound is the movie's greatest strength, but the story and character development is it's weakest.
You see the characters interact with eachother but they rarely develop any character traits that are relevant to the story.
This is definitely a 7 for me since the sound, actors and picture keeps you at the edge of your seat through out the movie and I certainly hope that this is just the beginning for Swedish horror!
Partisan (2020)
One of the most intriguing Swedish tv-shows since Bron!
You follow the story from Johnny's perspecive, he is a great undercover cop, but he has been dealing with a lot of trauma lately.
Partisan starts after his leave of absence, his story, motivation and actions will reflect how he is as a person but also how his wellbeeing is.
Fares Fares, Johan Rheborg and the other actors are really convincing in their acting, it really brings life into the society they're in and it only gets better and more complex the deeper into the story you get.
One of the best parts of Partisan is the small details, you see characters do questionable stuff without perspective, but when you get to know them it's totally understandable and it brings more depth to the scene with minor gestures and reactions.
My main critique is that the ending felt somewhat rushed and that the show easily could have been 8 episodes instead of 5.
It would also have been interesting to get to know more about the major characters in the village and see more of their perspective.
Amir Chamdin did a great job directing and I hope to see more shows in the style of Partisan in the future or even possible a season 2.
