Hit and Run (2021)
Partial Review
I will give it for stars for now because I am only @ episode 4, however, I felt the urge to comment about 2 scenes that did not make sense.
I was interest to watch because it is the same creator and lead actor, from Fauda, which was a great show.
Episode 4 in season 1: when the cops found blood on the deck, they immediately assumed that it was a HE? No cameras or witnesses, but they immediately assumed it was a male's body that was dragged. Did I miss something?
Towed the end of episode 4, Segev went to "Sophie"'s apartment and the noisy neighbor ambushed him, yet she never introduced herself by name, however, when she gave him access to the apartment, he thanked her by calling her Gloria. Again, did I miss something else?
I will be happy to read others' thoughts on this.
1982 (2019)
Complete disappointment
Where is the storyline?
I had high hopes, and the movie started well, but they failed to make sense of the storyline. and it just ended abruptly, unless I missed something.
What a waste of money, as I had to rent it on amazon Prime despite being a member. I definitely don't recommend. Nadine Labaki is a great actor and director but this movie is not worth watching.
La Venganza de Analía (2020)
Watchable but not that great
I am still watching the series, but honestly getting bored with the inconsistencies, and unconvincing storyline.
The first thing that is hard to believe is the age/relationship ration between the characters. For Example Marlon Moreno was born in 1966 , yet his character has fathered Ana Lucia, played by Carolina Guerrero, who is 50 years old in real life. Although she is very beautiful, but her love, Pablo, played by George Slebi (who is very handsome by the way, of course he has Lebanese blood), is over a decade younger than her in real life.
And if Deralis was born in 1966 and died in 1992 (Age 26), how old was she when she was raped and had Ana Lucia? she must have been 14? sounds a bit unbelievable.
Analia wants revenge, she tells all these people who she really is, she travels to Dora ant Toto's neighborhood , hangs out with them, has drinks with them etc.... all freely, and not a worry about anyone seeing her? then she gets Dora to work on the campaign with her.
It is a good story line but it could have been written better, and without the inconsistencies.
Kördügüm (2016)
Did not disappoint
This is the 4th Turkish series I have watched on Netflix (And honestly, I am starting to speak a little Turkish :)). It is not the best series (Kara Para Ask is still the #1) I have seen but after reading all the reviews, I don't agree with the negative comments.
A lot of viewers were disappointed that the character Naz was killed off, if you understand that the actress actually wanted to leave the show, and that was the best scenario , you would be less disappointed.
I don't agree with the viewers who commented about Ali Nejat's attitude after Naz's death, he did not disrespect her. he kept working on finding out the truth, and he was genuinely greiving .He did not immediately run into Eylul's arms.
Although it should have been a love story between Naz and AN, I did not feel they had chemistry on screen. And the kissing on the forehead was a turn off. They could have done better. I still can't understand why some actors kiss and some don't.
Some viewers commented about loose ends, not really, I think all the truths came out at the end, however, there are some discrepancies and question marks. Example: if Tariq was not their father, AN does not even remember his mother, Feyza does, how come she did not remember her father? And some other minor discrepancies, but in conclusion, it was definitely a nice story line, the actors were all exceptional, especially the child actor playing Kaan.
Other Turkish series suggestions: Kara para Ask (Black Money Love), Winter Sun, 20 minutes (20 Dakika).
