The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994)
A fabulous & colourful romp that inspires my neverending gayness.
Oh how I adore this film ! I found it to be enchanting & inspiring. This film is sooo special to me, I took my boyfriend Jun to see it & I must say that we hardly kissed at all as this wonderful piece of cinema was far too absorbing to take your eyes off the screen, not even for one of Juns sexy smooches.
The costumes were the highlight, I was in awe of their delicious boldness & I continue, even to this day, to be inspired by this movies wardrobe ( or should I say 'closet' - tee hee ).
On the man candy side, I couldn't get enough of Guy Pearce & his cheeky pout - what a saucy monkey. The other actors were equally good, but they lacked the hot cheekbones & bulging muscles of the gifted Guy Pearce.
I would recommend this film to any man, gay or otherwise, as it is truly remarkable. Though, like me, you would probably better relate to the subject matter if you were a proud & fierce cross dressing queen.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Hanks stank, Gump stunk. Booooo !!!!!!!
What a load of sentimental nonsense, I mean really! How can we celebrate the unremarkable life of such a tragic simpleton? I've heard one misguided fool remark that this was a " truly great film & that's why it won so many awards ". Well, if they presented awards for time wasting, mediocre, uninspired, brainless drivel then Forrest Gump would be the undisputed champion of the celluloid world! Everything about this equals cinematic dogs mess, from Robert Zemeckis sloppy, gormless direction to Alan Silvestri's soulless, largely grating musical score, not to mention Hanks hollow & irritating portrayal of a drooling,chocolate-offering,life advice-giving mental case. I, Big Ol'Alex Davies, found this film to be an insult to my superior intelligence & even my boyfriend, who has broader taste than I, thought of it as nothing more than sappy cat vomit.
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Puts the camp in camping.
Coo-ee, Craig here. I loved this film - a Masterpiece ! The two male leads could share my sleeping bag anytime...Ho Ho!!! Ang Lee has truly captured the spirit & essence of the young macho mind of a sexually confused cowboy & I for one, applaud his bravery in tackling this most sensitive & challenging yet sexy subject matter.I rate this film enormously, the love scenes between Heath & Jake are as tender and realistic as any I have encountered in film ( or real life for that matter...). I recommend this film for all serious film buffs. And for those who can look beyond the obvious controversy of a gay love story in a mainstream film - I, Craig Horton, applauds you! Anyway, my sequined hotpants are ready to come out of the tumble dryer so I must go. Toodles ! Craig xxx
