All Day and a Night (2020)
Authentic and Real
Having grown up in a tough neighbourhood I can tell you that this movie has some serious authentic tones to it and is well acted. Don't listen to the second-hand POVs of some critics on here who don't have a clue. The backs against the wall desperation to live life, valuing of getting money for yourself over the life of others, the sensitive egos, the struggle of youths, the struggles of parents, drugs, money, girls, gangs, the never ending cycle and how's perpetuated by an unforgiving system that's holds people hostage. It's all there. While some people don't get the point of the movie, I thought it was clear. Showcasing the system, the cycle and the struggle and how kids, who are born a clean slate, get drawn into it and corrupted by no choice of their own. Powerful movie and the main characters were effective in making it real.

Undeserving of Bad Reviews
Based on true events this film really captures the real life struggles for freedom around the world (in this case South Africa) and effectively showcases the emotion and meaning behind it. The acting is powerful and the story gritty. The main characters did well and the movie makes you reflect on world affairs. Thabo Rametsi did so well in this film as the lead actor. "What is the price of freedom, everything!"
Dark Waters (2019)
Eye Opening, Informative and Shocking
Thank God for the work of Robert Billot. Not only combatting an evil corporate giant and fighting for the good of humanity, but was also persecuted, hated on and shunned as he challenged humanity's engrained shortsightedness and their never ending focus on the next pay cheque. This movie captures this journey and the struggle with supreme accuracy and was so well made. Kudos to Mark Ruffalo - so well done. One of the best environmental movies I've seen and based on a true story that changed lives and humanity forever.
Titanic (1997)
Deserves 10/10
For its time, this movie was highly advanced, well acted and authentic. The film effectively captures the tragic downfall of the ship and the crew, captures all the various ranges of emotions and sub stories and successfully creates emotional connections with multiple characters. Excellent movie.
Tides (2021)
Better than it's Rating
I can't understand why this movie is rated 5.4/10. Great acting, cinematography was excellent, the storyline was solid. All in all, worth the watch sci-fi/ disaster/end of world film that touches on themes of natives vs colonizers, climate change and the future of the world. I would not trust the reviews claiming this to be a bad movie, it was a good watch.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Satirical, Metaphoric and Brilliant
Satirical, metaphoric and brilliant, this movie touches on a diverse spectrum of facts, misinformation, science and politics that come with real global issues (like existential threats) while putting society's shallowness and obsession with nonsense on full display with supreme accuracy. A very clever and clear way to issue a warning for science deniers of the looming extential threat of climate change and the ongoing disregard of peer reviewed scientific evidence. Excellent movie and very timely.

Intelligent Film
A worth-the-watch Sci-Fi if you have the IQ to understand it's complexity. The average Joe looking for an everyday action-thriller with a strong unrealistic, invincible protagonist may not see the value in this movie.
The appealingly science-based, well thought elements of this movie truly make it a memorable one and the plot twist was mind-blowing to me. Highly recommend.
Meteor (2021)
Avoid: Waste of Time
This movie is terrible and a massive waste of time. It is loaded with scenes of useless, uninspiring, conversations and dull, uneventful action. It's an empty, lifeless movie, too much irrelevant conversation, no climax, no action, no thought-provoking, nothing. 85 minutes of NOTHING. Do not waste your time. By the 30th minute, we were done with this movie but kept on thinking it would pick up or change given some of the good reviews. We continued to watch, wanted to give it a chance, but nothing happens. No to mention the acting is terrible. Just juvenile, like a high school play.
