Last Sentinel (2023)
Good, atmospheric sci-fi with a slow delivery of details that solidify at the end.

Add "mystery" to the description. Viewers that require action and cumbersome exposition should look elsewhere. There're also no mutants; no superheroes; no invading aliens; no zombies; no robots.
A variation of Mutually Assured Destruction (M. A. D.) with one side maintaining the ability to extinguish what remains of humankind on a planet already made mostly unhabitable for people, by people.
Yea, this future is dark and sad and is far more probable than all the eye-candy sci-fi.
(Many of the reviews for this aren't even about the movie, but the reviewers' opposition to the consensus of human-caused climate change. If they don't believe it, why do they care?)
