Three's Company: Unaired Pilot #2 (1976)
Season Unknown, Episode Unknown
8/10
And Mother Makes Four
15 April 2024
Actually I believe the synopsis is not correct. This is the pilot that would go on to be Episode 2, from Season 1, "And Mother Makes 4".

It is the pilot where Chrissy's mom comes to visit. (At this point Susan Lanier was Chirssy). This was already the third "blonde" and the show wouldn't go on air until 1977 for 6 episodes.

Suzanne Zenor played Samantha in the original unaired pilot. She was an aspiring actress rather than a secratary. That character would become Chrissy rather than Samantha. Suzanne Lanier had replaced Denise Galik who was let go two days before the pilot taped.

Suzanne Somers was the only regular cast member not in this pilot but in the original episode "A Man About The House". We wouldn't see Larry until Episode 4, "No Children, No Dogs". Larry was just "Honest Larry" at that point.

If you are a Three's Company fan, I believe this would be worth your time. If not a big fan, this episode is essentially the same as the 2nd episode of Season 1.

SCTV: Bob Hope Desert Classic (1978)
Season 2, Episode 2

This is Bob "get your ball out of my fairway" Hope
9 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Dave Thomas playing Bob Hope - "This is the only golf course in the world were golfers yell 'ceasefire' instead of 'fore'.

All the traps on the course are grass and the rest of the course in sand. (Well what would one expect in the desert in Saudi Arabia)?

The whole spectacle is hilarious. Dave does a great Bob Hope. I love the shenanigans where Menachem Begin has a "bad lie" and an argument ensues with Yasser Arafat.

Yasser Arafat refuses to leave the 12th green as his men occupy the hole! (Priceless). Menachem Begin's foursome occupy a small strip on the 13th fairway. Bob Hope takes cover in a grass bunker to avoid the golf balls being fired at each other by the two "occupying" groups. I won't spoil anymore of that segment.

On Monster Chiller Horror Theatre, it's the "semi-classic" The House of Cats. Dr. Tongue with his loyal companion Bruno...played by the incomparable Woody Tobias Jr., turn people into cats. Unfortunately for the good doctor & Bruno the cats turn on them. The special effects throughout this skit are state of the art. (Dripping with sarcasm).

Count Floyd is getting greedy here as the 3D glasses are now up to 27 bucks.

Hilarious episode. Very highly recommended!

Corner Gas: You've Been Great, Goodnight (2009)

Mystery?
1 February 2024
Not giving away anything for the finale of the series. One clue of what Brett is doing on Wednesday night is what Brett likely does best. (He's obviously a very good writer and creator to boot).

This was bittersweet for myself as it was the final episode of a show I really enjoyed. In fact, this is my all-time favourtie Canadian sitcom. (I was a big fan of SCTV for sketches and for sports it would be Hockey Night In Canada).

Not a edgy show at all. In fact, for most of the part it was a program that I would personally rate PG-13.

A very good finale to an iconic Canadian sitcom.

Highly recommended!

According to Jim: The Bachelorette Party (2005)
Season 4, Episode 24
10/10
Now That's A Bachelorette Night!
10 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of my personal favourites from the series. The crowd at Dana's bachelorette party couldn't get out of the door fast enough. By the looks on the guests faces, cleaning a room would have made for a better time. Nobody had the heart to tell Cheryl her party was dullsville.

Enter Jim and Andy. Jim records the party (and in record time) he is disappointed in the party Dana received.

Jim offers her the opportunity for a "real" bachelorette and Dana is hesitant but accepts. Let the chaos begin.

Problem is we don't know what happened as the next thing we see are Jim and Andy in a drunken state, trying to make a meal in the kitchen.

After Cheryl is awakened and comes down stairs, the guys recreate the night using clues and we see the flashbacks.

Lots of laughs in this one.

Highly recommended if you enjoy the show.

Warning: Spoilers
A very funny episode from Season 6. There were so many great shows from this season. This is one of them. Not too many spoilers here but....

Jack is miserable after losing his "southern belle" girlfriend Arabella due to a misunderstanding at the Regal Beagle.

Janet, Teri & Larry devise a plan to help Jack win back Arabella's affections. They all agree it would be a great idea for Jack to sing to Arabella underneath her window in the evening. The girls believe that Arabella would instantly melt.

Problem.......... Jack sings for Janet, Teri & Larry and it's awful. Larry tells the trio he can sing and proceeds to sing "You Are So Beautiful". Larry is excellent. Larry will sing hidden from Arabella while Jack mouths the words.

It's a plan!!! When Larry & Jack arrive at Arabella's place the comedic chaos begins.

Excellent show. Highly recommended.

A Must See...
30 July 2022
Harri Hursti really does a fabulous job of illustrating how easy it is to hack into the system.

Paper ballots with your receipt needs to be the way of the future. Technology had made our lives much easier but this is a case that can distort the will of the people.

Perfect score. IMHO.

The end of the line....
30 July 2022
Too bad this show didn't get a 2nd season. A very funny show. There are many shows that continue to run despite being quite long in the tooth.

Looking back Trophy Wife holds up great and still makes me laugh.

Ratings are everything. I guess the show didn't find it's was to a big enough audience for the network.

Warning: Spoilers
A classic episode from Season 2. A really good story of how when Marge & Homer first hooked up. It was in detention.......which is surprising for Marge.

The first time we see Artie Ziff.

Nice ending where Marge Drives Homer home and the meter ran out on his limo for the evening.

Highly recommended.

A Top Episode From The Series....

Episodes like this are the reason to watch Baretta. It really glues your eyes to the screen and Robert Blake has great command of his art. Slim Pickens is excellent here as well.

The ending is simply fantastic.

Highest recommendation.

Three's Company: And Baby Makes Two (1980)

A Sleeper Episode
3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of those episodes that will likely not be in the top 10 on anybody's list but is a great episode.

Janet tells Jack & Chrissy about babysitting and how adorable the baby is AND then Jack hears a conversation between Janet and a man and jumps to the conclusion Janet is hiring a surrogate so she can have a baby.

The scene in the kitchen is priceless where Jack offers to help Janet as he believes "she should turn to a friend". I love when Janet thanks Jack but tells him she doesn't think he can do the job. (Talk about a bruised ego for Jack).

Of course Jack has no idea that these men are only there to help with Janet redecoration the girls bedroom while Jack & Chrissy go skiing for the weekend.

In syndication you miss the tag, which is excellent. Janet resumes the conversation she had with Jack in the kitchen and is quite good to see the sexy Janet basically turning Jack's legs to mush.

Highly recommended.

Warning: Spoilers
Easily one of the top episodes of the series. Not the best day to get a hole-in-one and forget what you were not allowed to do before giving your sample.

Andy being the good buddy that he is helps Jim out.......sort of.....

No real spoilers here.

An excellent episode.

The Look On Eugene Levy's Face Is Priceless!
5 April 2021
The humour is a bit darker in this episode, which I personally enjoy. I'm not giving anything away as this line is in the title. It was priceless when Roland told Johnny "don't worry, it's his sister". I had to pause the show as I was laughing so hard. This episode was a lot of fun and made me a fan of the show.

The line was really foreshadowing things to come. Expect the unexpected in this excellent comedy.
