Killing Eve: Do You Know How to Dispose of a Body? (2019)
Never the same after S1
Though Comer, Oh, and supporting cast remain outstanding, Killing Eve was simply never the same after Phoebe Waller-Bridges left the helm. It's a pity: the anthology-style concept of having a different person head up writing each season is intriguing. But it seems Waller-Bridges created characters and a world--and, most of all, a relationship--unique and spiky enough that no one else can quite plug into it. Certainly not Emerald Fennell, whose season 2 is full of cartoonish gestures and self-caricature. (Not to mention Nina Sosanya filling the void left in the cast by Kirby Howell-Baptiste in a manner that feels uncomfortably fungible--though in all fairness, the sidelining of Howell-Baptiste's character is a problem the first season created.) As with so many shows, best way to watch Killing Eve is to stop at the end of season 1.
