The Curse (2023)
Here I Go Digging In Again
Nathan Fielder is a generational talent. He looks to have hit another cultural home run with the Curse. He has come up with a plan thanks to his really good business knowledge, which allows him to film himself being intimate with Emma Stone, I have a feeling we will see multiple versions of this.
I for one am here for it, if you are a Nathan for you fan or a Rehearsal fan, or a fan of his old spots from that Canadian news show, you absolutely owe it to yourself to check out anything he has done you haven't seen.
I look forward very greedily for upcoming episodes, if all 10 would have dropped I have no doubt I'd still be watching.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The Best Film Ever Made
I can see from the bulk of the reviews on this page that I don't have to write a glowing review of this film...but I want to. Having read most of Steven Kings work I cant tell you how many times I have been let down by films made from his writing. In my opinion however this film surpasses his story so much so that it becomes the best film ever made. Morgan Freeman's narration of the film gives me goose bumps, the story just grabs hold and will not let you go. This film is long but I guarantee when you reach the end you will wish it would just keep going. The DVD is lacking in special features which is a shame because I'm sure I would have watched those countless times as well. All in all I say not only should everyone see this movie (rent it now!!!) but own it as I do.
Braveheart (1995)
No Matter What at Least Mel Gave Us This
If you consider this a war movie or an action movie your missing the point. This movie is about the human spirit. If I did have to classify it as a war or action movie it would certainly be #1 in either genre. Mel Gibson's acting is superb and is unbelievably outshone by his direction. The war scenes are epic and this film should be seen by everyone. I swear the scene where he rally's the troops to war made me want to wield a mace so bad I couldn't believe it. All in all if you don't like this film there is something wrong with you. This is Mel Gibson on the top of his game, the way his career and life have fallen off the cliff at least movie fans have this gift to see how amazing a movie maker he once was.
