I cant believe i watched this shambles
13 February 2007
Pubesencent eye candy fodder, that falls short of Anime standard in levels of gore and action which the fan base expects but lays on tons of pointless, sub-Hentai nudity! Then the opening credits roll..... Though not even that great a movie, at least the original Heavy Metal stands head and shoulders over this shambles.Lazy Animation, weak voice acting, Micheal Ironside does his best before losing interest while Billy Idol (!?) is largely anonymous and Julia Strain is especially bad. A predictable storyline and laughable characters coupled with dated, poorly realized CCG, makes this one to miss, and thats a F.A.K.K 2. Will appeal to those willing to overlook the crudeness of the production, but not the crudeness of the magazine!

Achtung,Blitzkrieg!!!
11 September 2004
Utterly essential for any Rammstein fan. This DVD comes packed with over 3 hours worth of Rammstein footage, including every video from "Du riecht so Gut" to "Feuer Frei!" ."Making of" documentaries on the videos, interview footage ,over an hours worth of live performances which are highlights from seven major concerts spanning Rammstein's career,TV trailers, advertisements (including hilarious American TV ads). All this comes in a beautifully presented jewel case. The DVD menu screen is a joy to navigate. The band members put themselves across very intelligently and are very well spoken.Rammstein are a band who know what their are doing, their critics would do well to watch this DVD,and see how they feel afterwards. The only downside with this release is that it ends!!! (eventually!!)

Visionary,beautiful Ultra Violence.

The Second part of Takashi Miike's Dead or Alive Trilogy. Its a beautifully shot film, with weird, video game elements thrown in,take it seriously and you'll enjoy it even more.Excellent characters and bad guys, bizarre cut scene and an and varied soundtrack seal the deal, for this often overlooked gem.

Goodbye Brain
21 May 2002
This is a masterpiece of Japanese underground-cyberpunk-sci-fi.The whole 65 minutes of this movie are crammed and intense.Sure it is uncomfortable, sure its sick but hell, its compelling.Watching the metamorphasis of the main characters and using unique cinematography, gives this film the edge over a lot of its "underground" alternatives.Using stunning (though confusing) cut scenes and having an astonishing sondtrack ,makes Tetsuo an extremely difficult, but enjoyable viewing experience.

Bowie pulls off a magnetic performance as the immoral,murdering,alcoholic...Baal
27 July 2001
We have a dramatic masterpiece here and the Music is used very well...both lyrical and instrumental, which has been re-released by Bowie's label. The opening "Baal's Hymn" sets the scene for the protagonist an ex-soldier, explaining his love of "the sky" alcohol, women and mass murder-----during an Orgy ,("When Baal saw lots of corpses scattered round,he felt twice the thrill ,despite the lack of room, space enough ,their not thick on the ground, space enough within this womens womb) - this line sums up the kind of character we are dealing with. The image of "the Sky" is also very important in this play, showing perhaps that Baal is bored with his life and wishes to die. Fantastic

Godspeed you Black Emperor! Has one of the greatest names in cinema history!
16 July 2001
Well, its an informative movie about a Japanese moped gang.I don't know if it makes much sense. The black and white production was dodgy at best. The movie shares its name with a Canadian band.I don't know why it appeals to me so much, but it just clicked.

A Beautiful movie dealing with the confused teenage mind.
16 July 2001
This is a skillfully crafted piece of cinema that deals with a teenage boys confused sexuality. The cut scenes within can be lengthy but the cinematography is beautiful. This film would not appeal to many people, especially those who are queasy about gay teenage relationships, but the more open minded can sympathize with the puzzled protagonist.
