Monster (2022)
Good job Netflix. More of this!
This show is great. It's so disturbing that I can't stop thinking it about it in my free time, which means it was done right. If Netflix keeps on pumping out quality shows of this caliber, they won't have to worry about all of the competitors (who copied their model) taking them down. Long live Netflix!
I can't understand why the critics aren't on board with this show either. It just comes to show you how out of touch they are with the audience-ya know, the ones who matter. The ones who actually consume the show and give Netflix money.
Watch the show and ignore the critics. These are the same people who gave She-Hulk incredible reviews while giving this masterpiece of a show a rubbish rating.
The Daily Show (1996)
Masterpiece w/ Stewart. Disaster with Noah.
What else needs to be said? Jon offered perspective and nuance to politics; Trevor is an established-democrat pawn. After he went after Joe Rogan-even after Joe defended him when he was under serious heat years ago-made me officially stop watching the show. Is it a coincidence that the ratings for The Daily Show got EVEN lower after his Rogan smear? I think not. This show is Brian Stelter or Sean Hannity bad.
As a political independent, I had hoped Trevor would offer a centrist platform amidst this polarizing news nonsense. Him at the White House correspondents dinner was cringe beyond words.
Until they bring back Jon, this show will continue to tank-it already loses more money than it makes for Comedy Central. Look up the numbers.
House of the Dragon: The Heirs of the Dragon (2022)
Too much unnecessary violence-even for me.
I am normally someone who doesn't mind violence or darkness in T. V. shows. In fact, I normally seek out shows that happen to have violence and are dark in nature, mostly for the storyline itself. I personally believe violence in shows should be tasteful and not overshadow violence in the real world-if possible and depending on the plot. HOWEVER, this was the most useless use of gratuitous violence I have seen in a long time. Showing people and horses getting maimed is overkill (pun not intended) and takes away from the plot instead of adding to it. The show-writers could've gotten the maiming storyline across to the audience without actually showing people's limbs in a freaking cart-wagon for a solid 30 seconds. It felt forced to me and completely unnecessary. I am pressing pause on this show until more episodes are in and someone convinces me it's a must-watch TV show, like it's predecessor.
Snowflake Mountain (2022)
Believing in earning what you get doesn't make you a conservative
I literally cannot believe that left-wing critics are writing this off as conservative garbage (and I'm not a conservative myself). It literally has zero politics in it whatsoever, and actually shows how people can come together. Extremely unfair rating YET AGAIN. Just because things aren't woke doesn't make them conservative.
Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey (2022)
Like Wild Wild Country but with the FLDS
I'm giving this a ten because 7 is far too low a number for this. If you enjoyed Wild Wild Country then watch this one. This one is less violent, but it's also more twisted than WWC. Definitely a must watch for people who love True Crime shows.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
I can't believe anyone likes this ending. It's Dexter bad
What is wrong with people? This was the most disappointing finale since game of thrones. How this has a 7/10 rating is beyond me. Basically, the Byrds face absolutely zero repercussions for their actions and get out Scott-free. Total opposite of Breaking Bad, where Walter finally gets what he deserves. I can't state enough just how let down I am by this rushed, joke-of-an-ending.
The Last Kingdom (2015)
Best series of all time (it gets better as it goes on).
I used to think Breaking Bad was the best show of all time, but after this series' ending, I now think this is the best of all time. When you first start watching the show, you might think I'm crazy, but give it time. Trust me. It starts off with way worse graphics than the show Vikings, but eventually the production costs pick up and the show starts looking amazing around season 3 (when Netflix bought the show). In fact, this is when the show starts to really get its wheels grooving.
I am currently reading the books, and yes, as the books go on the show is less and less in line with the books, but that's what makes them both great!!!!
Preacher (2016)
Why deviate so far from unbelievably good source material?
This should have been a slam-dunk. I went in with high hopes after finishing the comic-in fact, the tv show was one of my main reasons for reading the graphic novels in the first place. I love reading comics/books and then watching the tv/movie adaptations. However, this was so unfaithful to its source material that I couldn't watch more than the first episode. And I'm even okay with straying from the source material if it enhances the story, but this did the opposite of that. They took an incredible plot, unique/original characters, and somehow made it into something much worse.
I can't put into words how frustrating this adaptation was from only one episode. If you've never read the comic you might enjoy it; but if you have read it, keep moving along. You'll be disappointed if you expect it to be even one fifth as good as the comic.
What a letdown! And I love Seth Rogan normally lol.
Reliable Sources (1992)
The double standards are astounding
This guy is a walking contradiction. He calls out Joe Rogan for misinformation but refuses to acknowledge the misinformation their own network has spewed recently. I used to watch CNN but refuse to watch it anymore. Hopefully he gets fired soon.
