It's just wired.... But fun to watch
23 July 2022
This film has everything...well not a good story, but that is really not important here. It's really fun to watch though. The movie switches between blockbuster and the cheapest tv daily feeling within seconds as well as being fabulously low key homoerotic and macho culture at the same time. This is the best movie to watch slightly drunk with friends. Which I don't mean in a condescending way. It just so ridiculously over the top that I found this the best way to enjoy this unique film.

We watch it because it's bad but....

Warning: Spoilers
We all know a cheap production like this comes at the cost of bad acting, cringy stock music and a flat plot. And it's ok. You don't expect anything else from a movie like this. And it's actually part of the fun. But even in a low budget production like this. Is it Not possible to at least keep the most basic of historical accuracy? Every child knows that the titanic broke into two pieces (right at the beginning of the film they show the "original" desaster) and the "relics" from the wreck? 100 years beneath the sea and everything the violin is missing are 2 strings 😂 common. At least read the Wikipedia article about the Titanic before you make a movie about it. .....

On a more serious note. The worst thing about this movie is probably the writing. The actors have absolutely no chance to make anything out of those dull dialogues. The characters are so extremely one dimensional and frankly annoying, that every death caused by a ghost feels more like a big relief.

Overall you get the feeling that on this ship there are only about 15 people in total. Of course this might be due to the budget.... But then again. Maybe they should have done a different movie which would fit more to the budget.

Beautiful film with too much auto tune
27 March 2022
The film itself is really beautifully made and touching. However the soloists seem to be edited with auto tune to a level where it feels disturbing. Every single note, even in the most silent pianissimo, is so in tune without any modulation in the tone, that no one could ever perform like this. It feels way too clean for the genre and musical style. I compared with the recordings from the old movie (which I haven't seen before) and they have exactly this what the new recordings lack. A liveliness which adds to the energy of the plot.

Autotune-erella

This cringy movie must hold the world record of vocal edits per minute. It's painful to hear.

It feels like a 2 hour educational video on how to make vocals sound aweful.

This is just awful

After watching the original episodes which are really well played and full of amazing jokes-sparkling with joy of the actors..... this movie feels like running face forward into a chainsaw. Horrible 90s cliché story. Everything seems sad and not a bit of the original spirit is kept. I had to watch this "thing" as a child.... I hated it... And after accidently stumbling across this movie more than 20 years later.... It is safe to say that I still do
