Murder Mubarak (2024)
"Struggles on Screen: A Disappointing Blend of Comedy and Thrill"
The movie really isn't what we hoped it would be. It's hard to stay interested for more than two hours because it just doesn't grab your attention from the start. The story doesn't flow well, making the whole thing feel broken and not very enjoyable.
The movie tried to be funny and exciting at the same time, but it didn't work out. Even though it had a creative idea, it ended up being neither funny enough nor exciting enough. This mix-up makes the movie less impactful than it could have been.
Even though the movie had famous and talented actors, it didn't help make the movie better. Their performances couldn't save the weak story and direction, leaving viewers feeling let down.
The beginning of the movie doesn't match up with the rest, which can confuse and make it hard for viewers to get into the story. This gap suggests the movie was poorly planned and executed from the start.
All these problems - a confusing story, a failed mix of comedy and thrill, wasted acting talent, and a story that doesn't flow - make watching the movie a tough task. It's disappointing, especially since people expected a lot more from a film with big names and an interesting idea.
In the end, the movie's struggle to keep people interested and tell a good story shows the risks of trying to mix different movie genres without a clear plan. The famous actors don't make up for these issues, and the movie falls short of what it could have been. This makes the film hard to watch and enjoy, highlighting the need for a well-thought-out story and execution in making a successful movie.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
Enthralling and evoking nostalgia, slightly trailing the original series.
The live-action rendition presents a mixed bag of experiences, blending moments of delight with occasional disappointments for the original series aficionados. Its narrative endeavors capture elements that resonate with fans, while also deviating in ways that may not entirely please purists. Nevertheless, it offers a commendable attempt at translating a cherished series into live-action form.
Within this adaptation, there exist segments that stand out, showcasing a genuine affection for the source material. These instances evoke nostalgia and stir emotions, fostering a sense of connection with the beloved characters and their journeys. They serve as poignant reminders of what made the original series so beloved, injecting moments of joy and excitement into the viewing experience.
Yet, amidst these moments of brilliance, there are also aspects that fall short of expectations. Certain deviations from the source material may alienate die-hard fans, leading to feelings of frustration or dissatisfaction. These departures, whether in plot progression or character interpretation, can create a sense of disconnect, undermining the immersive quality of the adaptation.
Despite these shortcomings, the live-action adaptation manages to carve out its own identity, offering a fresh perspective on familiar narratives. It presents an opportunity to revisit beloved characters and explore their stories through a new lens. While it may not replicate the magic of the original series, it offers a chance for fans to rediscover their favorite series in a different format.
Comparisons to the original cartoon are inevitable, and indeed, the live-action adaptation occupies a distinct space within the broader realm of storytelling. It cannot hope to replicate the charm and nostalgia associated with its animated counterpart, which holds a revered status in the hearts of fans. However, it does provide a platform for reimagining beloved characters and narratives in a tangible, real-world setting.
Ultimately, the appeal of the live-action adaptation lies in its ability to evoke a sense of familiarity while also introducing elements of novelty. It allows fans to reconnect with cherished characters and immerse themselves in familiar yet reinterpreted storylines. While it may not surpass the original cartoon, it offers a worthwhile experience for those seeking to revisit their favorite anime series through a new medium.
In conclusion, while the live-action adaptation of the beloved anime series has its flaws, it also has moments of genuine charm and excitement. It serves as a commendable effort to bring beloved characters to life in a new format, offering fans an opportunity to reconnect with familiar narratives in a fresh and engaging way.
Serial Killer (2023)
Disappointing.
The series appears to be a blend of various Netflix shows, offering nothing novel.
The acting and direction fell short of expectations, with only Faiza Gillani, Saba Qamar, and Sarah's grandfather delivering noteworthy performances. It lacked excitement and contained numerous plot holes.
The depiction of the Pakistani police was unflatteringly comical. My interest in the series was due to the writer, but it seems that murder mysteries and crime thrillers are not Umera Ahmed's piece of cake.
Faiza Gillani's exceptional performance is a highlight, but it's not enough to overcome the series overall shortcomings.
The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984 (2023)
An avergae series on a massive disaster with a powerful cast.
The story that was chosen for the series was truly remarkable. It had the potential to leave a lasting impact on the viewers. However, when it came to the execution, there were some areas that fell short. The disaster depicted in the series was undeniably massive, but unfortunately, it didn't leave the powerful statement that it intended to.
One of the key aspects that contributed to this was the direction of the series. It seemed like there could have been more attention to detail and a stronger vision from the director. The way the scenes were shot and the overall pacing of the series felt rushed, which affected the overall impact it could have had.
Another aspect that didn't quite meet expectations were the dialogues. They felt ordinary and didn't fully utilize the potential of the extraordinary cast. The actors themselves were incredibly talented, but the dialogues didn't provide them with the opportunity to shine. As a result, the performances felt average.
In conclusion, while the story selected for the series was incredible, the execution didn't live up to its potential. The direction, dialogues, and character development could have been improved to make the series more impactful and realistic. Despite the powerful incident it was based on, the series fell short in leaving a lasting impression. It can be considered an average series overall.
Kaala Paani (2023)
Everything at its best.
Literally short of words while writing this review. Binged on the show and it was totally worth it. 24 hours past and I am still in the trance. The show will leave a long lasting impavt on your mind. It wont be easy to move on. I am still lost in the scenes.
Acting, dialogues, storytelling, cinematography at its best. The witer is a genius. Havnt watched such a class in ages.
The show will keep you on the edge of your seat, you will smile and cry through out the show. You will love/hate the same characters many times throughout. You wont be able to stop watching it after starting and you wont be able to forget it for long.
Doctor G (2022)
Too many messages, none executed to perfection
The maker has tried to put too many social issues together in sucha a way that none has appealled or made impression. The movie was full of factual and logical errors and in a few instances continuation errors too.
The characters lacked depth and there were many scenes that didn't make sense at all.
Music was below average. Acting not upto the mark. New actors introduced fail to to leave any mark at all.
The only comedy scenes in this so called comedy movie are the ones shown in the trailer. You might want to watch it after watching the trailer but trust me, you wont find anything in the movie captivating.
Aranyak (2021)
A good watch for thrill lovers.
The series is great, gripping and engaging. Despite knowing multiple bits you can nevere know the whole story till the end. Surprise to see so many bad reviews here.
Dhamaka (2021)
Nops!!!
They tried really hard to expose the media these days but the movie totally lacked logic.
Things didn't make any sense through out. The acting by all was terrible. Cant see how people are rating this 5 and above.
No One Killed Jessica (2011)
Overacted film with too many loopholes
All the actors in the movie can be seen constantly trying too hard to sound cool with fake English accent and swear words. Most of the scenes are overacted and one can't find an emotional connection. The story itself has too many holes. Waste of time.
Mimi (2021)
Entertaining and thought provoking
A well scripted and amazingly executed movie. Perfect balance of wit and humor.
Drishyam 2 (2021)
Good but not best
Story comes with many loopholes, besides the thrill starts after a good part of the movie like around after 60 minutes. The police could have easily got proofs of Gerorgekutty being present at the forensic lab at the night when the skeleton was taken and could have asked the man from the graveyard about the skeleton given to Gerorgekutty.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Wrong Genre
I thought it to be a psychological thriller and it turned out to be fantasy in end. Liked it but would have loved it if there was not a fantasy/supernatural twist.
