New wave in Yugoslav style
8 June 2007
New wave in Yugoslav style, one of the best YU movies ever made. Dzimi Barka is a handsome but quite untalented wannabe singer who is unemployed and wants to survive without working anything in times of economical crisis with stealing and cheating. He travels around Serbia, looks for success and meets women who are for him just objects to use for a certain purpose - sex, money or maybe career - and then to dispose. He does so until the sorry undignified end at the same place where he wanted to escape from. This is a movie about unperspective life of the working class in mud and greyness, between factories and villages .

Mediocrity saved by the role of Kallman
14 November 2006
Sebastian and Alex are two non-working rich and bored guys who mostly hang around bars in Vienna, meeting women they met on the internet and taking photos of them underneath the table. Once they meet a totally drunk bum, put him in a car and leave him in the middle of nowhere...

In my opinion it is a quite mediocrity movie, the idea itself is good - about guys who make pranks and practical jokes just for fun but personally I got bored few times while watching. What lifts the movie above total mediocrity is the acting of Paulus Manker (Kallman) whose role of an alcoholic was so convincing, without exaggerating, very realistic. As the actor said himself, he really was drunk sometimes while making the movie.

And for the end a quote from a poem, Kallman wrote: "MEIN NAME IST ANGST!"

absurd, crazy, surrealistic, fancy, colourful....
11 November 2006
it is simply funny, amusing, watchable movie, full of colours, commercial and video - clip aesthetic but definitely one of the best movies I've seen lately. Doesn't let you bored for a single minute as it presents amazing characters of a teenage homoerotic gang, a man who is trying to kill his wife who is ever more powerful and beautiful coming back from the grave, a daddy who becomes a bird in hypnosis, his hypnotiser who gets killed on stage by a British professional murderer whose ideal answer to a question "What is your function in life?" is "Nothing". Five separate faiths are suddenly connected by a murderer, each in its own way, all the stories which are not connected at the first glance suddenly make sense. Absurd, surrealistic, glam comedy:)))))
