The Twilight Zone: The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street (1960)
An episode for today ...
This episode should be seen as essential viewing for all of today's Q-Anon conspiracy nuts. Serling understood that this kind of contagious paranoia is a natural resident of the human heart. A great episode with important illustrative lessons for today. I find it very depressing that after all the human race has come to learn over the millennia, we r]apparently remain limitlessly suggestible. Very sad. I guess we need to continue efforts to educate youth, especially in issues related to human history and critical thinking. They should be taught to question EVERYTHING, if for no other reason than that there will always be those who try to take advantage of those just too credulous to know when they are being deceived.
Resurrection (2022)
Baffling and ...
... a truly painful viewing experience. An absolute waste of time. Nothing redeeming to add. I guess it's yet another depiction of a decent into madness.
You Can't Take It with You (1938)
What a great ride ...
I've long known this film. Seen it many times, including the viewing happening right now as I write this review. I only intended to peak this time but have found it impossible to turn away from Jean Arthur. While it's crazy to fall for a woman from a black and white film that's over 80 years old, I've managed to do it. If I could, I'd marry her. Sadly, never met any live woman who has come close.
Better Call Saul: Nippy (2022)
So, about Brian and Aaron ...
... both listed in the credits as appearing in this episode, as was Carol Burnett. Ms Burnett was delightful in her role but neither Walter nor Jesse actually made an appearance. Why are they listed in the cast then? I first noticed their inclusion last week and was very much looking forward to this episode. Disappointed to say the least.
You (2018)
A poor person's Dexter ...
This would be a decent show had not the same homicidal maniac not appeared first in Dexter. Also, not sure how this couple can manage to live so resplendently without an income.
Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer (2021)
Tedious ...
If this series had edited out perhaps nine words for every ten that made the cut, I might have rated it higher. As others have said, it's really too bad as the subject matter is important. Almost unwatchable, less because of that subject than because of poor production effort.
