The Night Shift (2014–2017)
7/10
entertaining
5 February 2021
This show isn't the best show I've ever seen, but it's definitely a good one. The story isn't always consistent, and neither are the characters, but each episode brings a fun and new issue that the cast has to deal with. I watched this show with my little sister and we had a lot of good laughs and got completely hooked on the story. So although it's not revolutionary, super unique, or well written, it's entertaining and will do the job of stopping any boredom you might feel. Ragosa is my favorite :)

a family favorite

This movie is a favorite of my family. It's so bizarre and funny that it never gets old to watch. Napoleon's awkwardness and lack of social skills is hilarious in such a unique way. We quote this almost daily! I would definitely recommend.

edgar wright does it again

Edgar Wright is such an amazing director and you can see this in all of his movies, but especially this one. Funny, witty, violent, quick paced, with an amazing ending. If I could wipe my memory to re watch any movie, it would be this movie. What I would give to watch this again without knowing how it ends. Seriously, the camera work and editing is so artistic and original. I don't know how anyone could not like this movie. It has everything you would want in a cop movie- a dynamic partnership, a huge mysterious case, fighting, comedy, and great pacing. Edgar Wright outdoes himself in every movie he works on, but this is seriously one of my favorites from him.

The Good Place (2016–2020)

hilarious yet deep
20 January 2021
It's really hard for a show to be funny and get a lot of laughs when it's also dealing with lessons on moral ethics and human philosophy. This show does an amazing job of realizing and pointing out all of the things that makes it hard for humans to live good or "moral" lives, but it does so in such a way that it is entertaining and dynamic. While teaching us how to be the best version of ourselves, it also makes us laugh at the endless hijinks of Jason and crazy schemes made up by the whole team. The continuous character developments and self betterment that goes on in The Good Place honestly gives me so much hope. Seriously one of the funniest yet heart warming shows I've seen. I miss it!!

criminally underrated

This is one of the most funny and captivating shows ever made. It had so many intricate and overlapping plotlines that add a whole new level to comedy, but at the same time it is never confusing or hard to understand. The visual gags, word play, and just overall plot line are so original and amazing. Not to mention how all of the characters have distinctive and unique personalities- none of them are just cardboard cut outs of usual tv stereotypes. Seriously I find this show just as funny as The Office, if not more, but it gets about half the recognition. I would recommend this to anyone who likes cracking up constantly and loves family hijinks.

a good show!

This show is really funny and original. The characters are easy to laugh at and with and the plotlines are so funny and unique. IT's just really hit or miss on if an episode is good or not. Some of them have me falling out of bed from laughing so hard, yet some of them just get a small chuckle. It really depends on personal sense of humor. The characters definitely grow on you after a while, but this show isn't consistently hilarious. Nonetheless, I gave it eight starts because when it is funny, it is REALLY funny.

funny and refreshing

This show is not a typical animated adult series. It doesn't rely on explicitly dirty or overused jokes to be funny. It's so original with what it does and it's honestly just so fun to watch. The perfect mix of hilarious comedy, lighthearted relationships, and occasionally drama and heartfelt moments. It's so underrated in my opinion, and there is no reason that people shouldn't appreciate this as much as other shows. Truly a gem that I recommend to all of my friends.

totally not what i expected

When I was starting this show I was expecting a shallow yet entertaining animated comedy series. Boy was I wrong. This show does an amazing job at showing mental illness, addiction, and personal short comings and how everything that someone does effects those around them. It's the exact opposite of shallow, and it tackles some big issues that a lot of people aren't used to seeing on tv. I can honestly say that this show was a treasure to each, with an incredible and satisfying ending.

Sherlock (2010–2017)

brilliant!

This is single handedly the best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. It's exactly what you would expect- the two of them running around, solving crimes, and being awesome. The modern day feel is what really makes this show exceptional. It keeps all the classic stereotypes of Sherlock Holmes, with and added feel of the new age. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freemen both did an exceptional job at captivating Holmes and Watson and they bring so much life to the show that I can't believe there are people out there that haven't seen it. The only negative thing I can think of to say, is how unsatisfying and random season four was. Maybe it's just personal preference, but I did not love the last season. Other than that I absolutely worship this show and would recommend it to anyone.

amazing series

It was really refreshing to finally find a medical drama that was more focused on the medical part than the drama part. This isn't just one of those shoes that's all about the relationships and theatrics- it's a character study that shows the highs and lows of addiction and how this effects people and the people they care about, while also having a fun and lighthearted side to it. With a unique diagnosis every episode, this show is impossible to get bored of. Something is always happening, but not in an overwhelming way. The team dynamic is unparalleled and this is honestly one of the most intriguing and interesting show I've ever watched.

hilarious and lighthearted

Maybe it's just my bias for Mark Wahlberg, but this movie was absolutely hilarious. It's what you would expect from a cop comedy- an intriguing crime to solve with an electric partnership. It's also what you would expect from a Will Ferrell movie- goofy, lighthearted, and funny. But it also has an added level of comedy and grit. Original punchlines and interesting dynamics. This is one of my go-to comfort movies because it's just one of those movies that you can watch over and over and it never gets old.

my favorite show ever!!
19 January 2021
This show is one of the best shows on the planet- the humor, wit, relationships, mystery, and overall goofballness is what makes it so special. The characters are so likeable and relatable to every type of person. It has such a unique and funny way of taking on the standard cop shows, and that's what makes it so good- the originality is unparalleled by any other show of it's nature. From the very first episode Shawn and Gus grip your heart and then hang onto it long past the finale. I can honestly say that this show is just as funny and electric as others favorites like The Office or Criminal Minds, and that it does not get the recognition that it so desperately deserves.

just as good as the office
19 January 2021
This show is genuinely one of the funniest things I've ever watched. It's word play, visual gags, callback jokes, and just overall humor are unparalleled. In my opinion, this show is just as good as shows like The Office or Parks and Rec, people just need to give it a chance. The astounding character development through the series and the realism to the relationships is what really pushes this show over the top for me. It's weird at time, but it always comes back with lighthearted and entertaining humor and episodes. I would really recommend this to anyone looking for a funny and captivating series.

best show i've seen in a while
19 January 2021
There is so many serious doctor and police dramas out there today- Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, etc. This show was a refreshing change of pace. It takes all the excitement, drama, and mystery from those shows and puts a hilarious and quirky spin on it. Shows like this are great because they aren't scared to laugh at themselves. I definitely recommend if you're looking for something lighthearted and fun, plus short and quick to watch through.
