One Piece: Wan pîsu: Luffy's Peak: Attained! Gear Fifth (2023)
Drums of liberation is here
The drums of liberation has arrived. Joyboy has returned.
Gear 5, a transformation that has been hyped up forever and we finally get to see it. Congratulations One Piece fans and Toei for this amazing accomplishment. If you truly understand the themes within this anime/Manga then you'll know what this transformation means for the entirety of the show
Now to get on with the episode. This episode has some of the most insane animation I have ever seen. So many different visual elements and so many different artistic styles, so many layers of different animation components, storyboarding, cinematography..the production is just too insane, it'll be too long to explain but that's thx to the nature of G5.
Toei nailed the nature of G5. A form where Luffy is free, freedom from everything, his limit is only his imagination. He laughs because he's free, he is joyful. The will of Joyboy is carried by freedom, and Luffy's nature is of this. The way Luffy expresses his freedom, Toei nailed it. Gear 5s cartoonish expressions were done so good. We even had the goofy ahh sound effects. They were so creative with animating G5. Mayumi Tanaka absolutely nailed the G5 voice acting. She is legendary.
More with the episode, it does have its flaws. The flashbacks, recaps, and padding. There was even a CGI Kaido. They reused Luffy jumping around too much, they padded that. There was a flashback at the end of the eps that was too long. It was unnecessary. There was another flashback too. Pacing issues in the episode
But overall, this episode was a joyful episode. Do not compare..and plz just truly enjoy this episode. Thank you Tatsuya Nagamine & Toei animation staff for animating this legendary moment. I and other ppl will be forever greatful.
Vinland Saga: Oath (2023)
10/10
Sorry but I believe this to be the best Vinland Saga episode so far. Everything about it was perfect to me. Animation was so good, Direction was good, Art direction, Storyboarding was good, Voice Acting was super good, props to Thorfinn's voice actor, the symbolism displayed visual symbolism, development, etc..This was a most anticipated chapter to be animated it did not dissapointed, matter of fact, Mappa elevated the content. I got goosebumps when Thorfinn climbed up, that scream. This episode you could feel Thorfinn and how much guilt he is feeling. Thorfinn, overcome your guilt, carry your guilt, that's what the corpses are for, Thors did the same, no you do it too. Carry your sins, carry your guilt, overcome them and be reborn, become a True Warrior Thorfinn. Acknowledge your sins and receive absolution. Even the creator of the manga cried while watching this episode.
One Piece: Wan pîsu: Isshokusokuhatsu: Inu to Neko to Samurai! (2016)
Raizo-Dono...
The minks were nearly poisoned to death, nearly tortured to death, Limbs were cut off, they've been fighting the pirates for nearly 2 weeks, their town was destroyed...and yet, out of every mink there, not one soul told Jack where Raizo was. No one could have predicted that twist. The loyalty they showed was untouched. Not to mention the OST. It's like that OST was made for that moment. Also can't forget that their city is over a millennium years old. It was collapsed into ruin and the mink tribe still didn't snitch. Everyone's reaction was on point. This scene will always give me chills. Oda man!
Kaguya-sama wa kokurasetai ~ Tensai tachi no ren'ai zunô sen ~: Dual Confessions, Part 2/The Shuchiin Afterparty (2022)
Perfect episode and finale
The feels man, and finally the confessing. Good payoff after 35+ episodes. This arc has been a blast, good adaption by A-1. The fans have been waiting and waiting for their confession and it was played out beautifully. Visually it was good, very emotional. The balloons and then the kiss, perfect finale. Love is war is indeed peak romcom. Excited for S4.
Fairy Tail: Natsu vs. The Twin Dragons (2013)
Good episode
About time Natsu got rid of those 2 dumbfound Dragon slayers. I kind of respected Rogue more. The fight was epic, tho I wished Gajeel could've fought more but it is what it is. Those 2 didn't stand a chance against Natsu. The ending was pretty cool. All of this building up to the "One day" lore, the day where Lucy died. Seemed like it was Levy's future self, something like that. They kept pinning on the dragon too, something to do with that. Also had to do with the Dragon graveyard. Anyways good episode, with nice fights, ost, lore, world building.
One Piece: Wan pîsu: The Battle of the Monsters! The Three Stubborn Captains! (2022)
Solid episode
Solid episode, 8/10
but too over the top with the effects. Color tones didn't look that good and aura and other effects are a No no and then we got to Sanji's gag. Which unfortunately put down the rating for this episode. The directing was iffy. I liked seeing Luffy's future sight and liked seeing the comparison to the greats, Whitebeard, Roger, Rocks, Oden and even Shanks. The scene with Law, Kid and Luffy was funny. Solid episode.
Zoku Owarimonogatari (2018)
Good season
Good season. And good ending to the great Monogatari series, at least for the anime side of things and at least for now. Beautiful season. The message was good and interesting. It was nice seeing Adult Mayoi, caring Sodachi, expressive Yotsugi, etc. The message. The regrets of everyone and the regrets of Araragi. The events that happened and the difficulty of moving on. It was nice knowing why Senjou wasn't in the Mirror world ; Araragi didn't have any regrets concerning her. The ending was satisfying, good conclusion. Literally the perfect conclusion for Araragi's character and the rest of the girls. Enjoyed this season a lo. Epilogue was nice. Nice to see Araragi transcending into the adult world. Overall nice season and arc, and nice message.
One Piece: Wan pîsu: Straw Hat Luffy! The Man Who Will Become the King of the Pirates! (2022)
Greatest story ever
This episode was just pure masterful. We Are instrumental, Yamato's theme, Oden's theme, Whitebeard's theme along with the stunning and beautiful animation. Credits to the director Megumi Ishitani, masterful work done with this episode. Great added scenes, Luffy and Roger parallel, Scabbards parallel, Luffy's dream, worst generation entrance, Luffy's walk, Yamato and ace...One Piece is too good. Definitely a top One Piece episode for me. ROOF PIECE is here.
Owarimonogatari: Ougi Darkness, Part Three (2017)
Brilliant just brilliant
Best Monogatari episode by far and best season by far. One of my fav episodes in all of anime. The character writing in Monogatari is unmatched. Such good writing. Araragi saving himself is such beauty. What I like about Araragi saving himself is that I believe that was the first time that Ougi was not smiling and acting cheerful. She talked with a sad tone, honestly made the scence even better. Ougi criticized Araragi multiple times in that moment yet he saved Ougi and acted upon the criticism. We also got the beautiful touching moment with Araragi and Shinobu. Man their relationship is so good. Such an impactful scence. Now the last scence. "I'm changing, but no matter how much I change, I'm still me". Araragi is the goat.
Owarimonogatari: Shinobu Mail, Part Six (2015)
Beautiful
Beautiful episode, beautiful arc. This was a very good season overall. Ougi was good in this season, a lot of mystery surrounding her, many questions and hints with her. Love Sodachi's arc, underrated character. Love her character and conclusion and the mystery within her arc. Shinobu mail was also good. Dialogues were insane, they were insane in every episode of this season. Sad scene from this episode when Shinobu forgave him. Also the happiness scene at the end, great dialogue. Overall very good season and episode.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Pride (2022)
Solid episode
The visuals were great, great animation as always, Hange and Levi, I love Hange, want more of her, the tension between the yeagerists, but this episode had a lot of cringy and weird moments. Pacing was alright, Annie coming which was good. The Mikasa and Louise scene. Then Annie shows up and all of a sudden there's comedy, do they not realize she literally killed many of their friends and soldiers? The meetup between Armin, Annie and Connie is a bit too convenient. Idk, it's just a strange change of tone. Most of the episode wasn't related to the plot, just some subplot with Connie which got resolved hella fast. Apparently the next episode fixes the issues with this episode so good.
Gintama: Ghosts Aren't the Only Ones Who Go Crazy in Graveyards (2011)
Absolute madness
The way Gintama can go from comedy to serious is just insane. This was one of the best episode so far. This and Kagura snaps episode. Absolute peak moment. Good build up and a good ending moment.
Gintama: Farewell, Buddy (2016)
The feels
Damn, even after all of that the Shogun still died. So many lives were lost protecting him and in the end he lost his life in a place where he was supposed to be protected. Not only that it was by one of his best childhood friends. OST was perfect for the build up. Not just a gag character.
Rest In Peace Shigeshige! You will be missed.
Overall Arc : 10/10
Conclusion : 10/10
Emotion : Infinite.
Gintama: Sworn Enemy (2016)
Absolutely flawless
Let's also talks about the build it. 300+ episodes, all to lead up to this exact moment. Glimpses & Glimpses of Gintoki's backstory. Glimpses & Glimpses of Takasugi. We knew they were going to find one day and here it is. No one can understand the burden these 3 have carried, especially Gintoki. The person who killed his own master. I guess I can understand Takasugi now and what makes him a great antagonist. The emotions I've felt during this episode, man. One of the best episodes in all of television.
Gintama: Five Pinkies (2013)
Absolute flawless episode
Tension from last episode was good but this one was insane. After infiltrating the palace we meet the shogun only to be supported by none other the Oboro and his clan. Gintoki and Oboro know each other from their perspective past which also is intriguing as we see more of Gintoki's past as the author keeps giving us glimpses and glimpses of it making us want to question what happened in his past. What's also so good about this is usually when a shounen character is angry they usually get a power boost but not for Gintoki. Him getting angry which makes him lose control and focus, if we can't control our emotions our movements are unstable, Gintama simply applies this logic. Let's not forget about the badass scene with Gintoki attacking the shogun, so fast and he bites a sword, legendary. Also good ending to this episode, both police forces arrive.
Shingeki no Kyojin: From You, 2000 Years Ago (2022)
Good but not 10 worthy
What made this episode was the ending. The beginning of it was a 8/10. Ending scene made it a 8/10. High 8 to be exact. The Ymir backstory was good but also boring. The Eren scene was chilling. Great visuals and voice acting aswell. My opinion.
One Piece: Wan pîsu: Tekken Sakuretsu! Auction o Buttsubuse (2009)
Satisfying
One of the most satisfying punches of all time. I'm sure us viewers would've done the same thing, or wished that luffy punched the dragon. It doesn't matter what the situation is, If you dare hurt Luffy's friends, just know it's about to go down. We also can't forget about Nami, she was willing to give up all of their treasure for a friend they just met. Good moment there. Overall a 10/10 episode and 10/10 moment.
Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Awakening (2007)
Great episode
Great opening episode to the final season.
- you have an ironic moment being how it was the Dai-Li agents who took down the wall instead of the fire nation.
- old crew members rejoin, Bato and jets gang
- fire lord Ozai reveal
- Aang waking up to the world believing he's dead
- emotional moments : katara's anger towards her dad for leaving her behind. Depth for her character. Aang's anger towards himself for not finishing the job and making ppl think he failed. Aang burning his staff. To me it means that he's done running away and he will just move foward. He has to hide his identity in order to get his honor back. And that day will come once he rises and reveals he's alive.
- Zuko and Azula back home as supposedly heroes.
- Azula being the smart villain she is and set Zuko up.
- roku and yue helping aang
Overall good episode.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Children of the Forest (2021)
Very good episode
This was a god tier episode. The reality, shockness, tension, parallels, I mean let's not forget about the voice acting. There's a lot of themes that applies to this episode. This episode was not only one of my fav but it was simply one of the best. This episode also was "non action". Next episode will especially be god tier lol
Shingeki no Kyojin: Deceiver (2021)
Unexpectedly good episode
This episode may not of been as entertaining as the others but it was needed. The pacing is good for the build up. I felt like this episode made gabi even more hated in a way. But I am certain, just wait for these next few episodes.
