Good Episode but not a standout
21 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is a decent episode of lower decks where I especially appreciated Boimler's storyline, more than the other storyline with Tendi, Rutherford, and Mariner which was just ok.

I did personally like the first 2 episodes a bit more in general but this was by no means a disappointing episode.

Some very minor spoilers : The addition of our Vulcan crew member is great as she works well with Boimler in my opinion.

I'm also interested in them teasing some new season long storyline at the end and beginning of two episodes so far.

Character development of our Lower deckers thanks to their career advancement is also something that's very welcome and what the show needed after 3 seasons to be honest.

So far another very enjoyable season and can't wait to see what's next.

Lower Decks does holodeck right
15 October 2022
Just like the original Crisis Point this was another great episode. Lower decks is consistent in pushing out good to amazing episode every week. I find it also highly rewatchable

Packed with great looking action, lots of funny jokes and references and what I love lower decks mostly for: great moments between characters, character growth and reveals in the background that set up new storylines in future episodes and seasons.

Was really great to see a certain guest character which I won't spoil.

This show makes great use of the holodeck which hasn't always been the case in Star Trek (remember Voyager's Fair Haven episodes?).

Lots of fun and I hope they make a Crisis Point III and IV, maybe made by Tendi and Rutherford this time.

Love it or hate it
8 October 2022
After last week's great episode that definitely had a ton of fan service in it, this is a much more risky and different kind of episode, with a lot less focus on the main characters and more on a side character.

I personally loved it. I thought the story itself was strong and I like shows taking these kind of risks, but I can definitely see it's one you either love or completely hate. There were some great jokes in It, and for me it was actually one of the more funny episodes. Not all jokes in LD land with me but this did.

Extra points for the animation which seems to be getting better and better. The ships and environments look amazing.

Not an action packed season finale but lots of funny moments
5 August 2022
A nice way to end the season (or series, but hopefully not).

This episode reminded me a bit of the latter half of the DS9 series finale.

It definitely wasn't an episode with the tension levels of last week but I enjoyed the funny moments throughout.

I hope we will see more Orville after this but if this is the end of the show, it's a good way to end it.

Another great episode

Loved this one. While I wasn't a big fan of Gordon in the first season of Orville (just felt he was there for comedy relief and not much else) this episode showed the actor has a great range.

So far a pretty strong season for the Orville.

Great episode to conclude a great season

Amazing episode with the great visuals as always. Performances from the cast, especially Pike was strong as usual.

Definitely kept me engaged and at the edge of my seat throughout

Bring on Season 2.

Very strong

The first episode that really showed how strong DS9 could be

Amazing performance from Nana Visitor and the main guest actor in this one. This was definitely an important character building moment for Kira

One of the best DS9 (and Trek in general) episodes and a must see.

Worf is usually great ...
6 July 2022
... but in this episode he's completely out of character and basically should be fired from Starfleet after his actions.

The story is just too light and tries to do commentary but never gets to a point where it's interesting. Couples having petty arguments rarely makes for good tv, especially in a sci-fi series

Skip this one.

... and not a captain. This is a completely out of character and complete nonsense story that you should just skip.

One of the weaker entries of Enterprise for sure.

Just bad
5 July 2022
This is one of the worst TNG episodes.

While I liked the character of Wesley Crusher more later on, he was extremely annoying early on and here he's probably at his most irritating. Combine that with ridiculous "aliens" that are nearly naked and just run around all the time and a story that amounts to nothing, this is an easy one to skip.

You're not missing anything.

A contender for top 10

Easily one of the best episodes of TNG and trek in general.

Exciting story, nice battle scenes, return of a familiar face and a look into a less optimistic galaxy.

5 July 2022
I know not everyone does but I like this episode because it's a bit eerie with some creepy moments that I remembered when watching this as a kid.

Not the best episode of TNG but definitely worth watching.

Good episode - maybe a tad too long
5 July 2022
Another nice episode after the amazing one last week.

A nice story and well acted. Bortus and Topa especially stood out for me.

Small criticism is that I found the episode a tad too long. For a more action packed one that's ok but for a story like this it can drag a bit.

Fun and funny episode
25 June 2022
I enjoyed this episode a lot. It was fun to see the crew in silly but good looking costumes playing a different role. Especially Pike, Hemmer, Uhura were really great but also loved Ortegas and La'an.

I can definitely see this is not for everyone and I would even go along with the statement that this kind of episode came a season too soon. But that doesn't make it bad at all. On the contrary.

I guess a silly episode leads to even more silly review bombing. All those that gave this a 1 are just... silly.

I liked this episode. Probably my favourite of the season after 2 more middling ones.

It had some good action in it but also some interesting commentary on heavier serious topics.

Pretty mediocre episode
20 June 2022
I'm generally not a great fan of horror but that's personal off course.

But even setting that aside, this episode didn't have any of the humour we usually see in the Orville. In episode 1 this could be excused due to the subject matter but in this one its a bit unfortunate.

Other than that this is the kind of story we've seen done before, which is perfectly ok, but this version doesn't add anything interesting or new.

So overall just a below average score on this one.

I still enjoy the Orville a lot but so far I feel season 2 is still the best we've seen.

Decent episode but a tad too long
20 June 2022
I enjoyed this episode overall but at some point it dragged on a bit. I personally think it would have helped the pacing if it was 15 min shorter.

Nice to see a bit of the humour back, without it going into silly Season 1 overdrive.

Another great episode
16 June 2022
I really loved this episode. Had some funny moments in it and kept me engaged throughout.

I don't get all the complaining about woke and "Gene would be spinning in his grave". I think he would have loved this episode. Felt very TOS.

Another enjoyable episode. This time a bit more lighthearted compared with the suspense of last week

Episodes 4 and 2 are still my favourites but I enjoyed all of them so far

Good final episode to an ok season
6 May 2022
Season 2 started very strong I think, but definitely had pacing problems in the second half.

This wrapped things up nicely with some pleasant surprises (and some more obvious developments)

Overall I would give this season a 7 whereas I would give season 1 only a 5.

This was an exciting episode and I always like first contact in Star Trek. Some original concepts in the communication style too.

Last 3 episodes dragged a bit and although interesting they could have condensed them into two but this one was great.

Great episode
11 February 2022
This show gets a lot of criticism. Some of it is valid, but a lot of it is just nonsense. Personally I like this season a lot and this episode was great. Lots of good character development especially from cmdr. Owosekun who I think really shined in this episode but also from admiral Vance and Tarka. I'm definitely looking forward to more.

I love this show
8 February 2022
This is a great show with some beautiful animation that somehow manages to get me invested in every character even minor ones. It started a bit mediocre and too hyper with the first 2 episodes but after that it's only improved with season 2 on average being even better than the 1st one.

Season 2 episode 9 Wej Duj I would count among my top 10 favourite episodes of all of Star Trek.
