Crime (2021)
What An Ending!
The way this series ending took me by surprise. I do not want to give the ending away but I will say I wish the police in my country would do the same thinbg. In order to avoid yet another spoiler, all I will say is the actor who played the villain was an excellent choice. The cast overall is terrific. I am not surprised it was picked up for another season.
I live in the uU. S of A., so I watched this using Britbox. I enjoy police dramas and this is one of the best I have seen, although it seems to send a message that the use of cocaine is okay if it helps you do your job (SPOILER: There is a scene where an officwer purchases stimulants from a drug dealer. What is sold to him are diet pills which, here in the U. S. are sold over the counter. It was not intentional, but it made me laugh.
Night Sky (2022)
Great Acting
J. K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek are the reasons to watch this show. The pacing is very slow. You can be doing chores in your home while it plays in the background and not miss anything, but the acting is not to be missed. Even if you are not a sci-fi fan, you may enjoy this.
The Equalizer: Solo (1987)
Great Character Actors and Lots of Plot Twists
In response to the other eview, Spacey is in this episode because he was still starting out in the industry. There are several character actors in this episode that are very good, including Thomas Quinn, who played Stan, the bartender. He previously played an unknamed bartender in a Season One episode. Only draw back of this episode is McCall falls for his client and it slows the story down a little.
Halloween with the New Addams Family (1977)
Flawed But Improves Over Time
This is a made for tv movie, whci means every fifteen minutes or so there was a commercial, so every fifteen minutes the action stops, but that is not one of the flaws. First, it was not filmed but video taped. One could tell just by watching. Second, it is not black and white. Being in b/w made the show feel like it was a part of the Universal Classic Horror series. The opening credits irked me, as it did at least one other reviewer. It gave Carolyn Jones a "Specoal Guest Star" listing. Why? Althhough the show was an ensemble cast, it was John Astin who made the show. Most of the original cast returned for this special, including the children (Ken Weather max' smile remained the same), and a couple of the actors who played various roles returned. The pacing seems off but it has its moments (such as Lurch's reaction when he discovers what his "date" actually is). I watch this every Halloween and, voer the yeats it sees to get better. If it feels like a pilot for a new series, it was (Charles Addams tombstone is in the family grave yard). It is on Youtube so one can watch it any time for free, although years ago I did purchase the DVD.
Adam-12: Victim of the Crime (1975)
Oh Waitress!
What I really enjoyed about his episode is the Waitress near the end of the show (she has no name and is listed in the credits as The Waitress). The actress is named Rose Ann Zecker in the credits. It was as if she was delivering a form of stand up comedy, complete with great facial expressions and an adorable accent. I later discovered she was in two other episodes playing different characters (S06. E24 - A Clinic on 18th Street and S07E.04 - Roll Call). She was also in an episode of the Adam-12 spin off series, Emergency (S04. E22 - 904-Wild). Sadky, she has not done much since. I wonder what became of such a wonderful actress.
