Laverne & Shirley: Guinea Pigs (1977)
Season 2, Episode 14

We're Not Guinea Pigs. We're Volunteer Subjects For Science Experiments
20 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The physical comedy in this episode is sublime. Penny is great and Shirley just shines here.

It is a strong show from beginning to end. The scenes where they are used as "human experiments" are terrific but as one reviewer stated, they moment they walk into the cocktail party the comedic chaos is out of this world.

Shirley's pounce on the cracker is comedy gold.

I love it when "Charles Warner" (a party guest) introduces himself to Laverne & Shirley. Shirley replies "I'm Shirley Feeney and this is Laverne DeFazio". Shirley stomps on Laverne's foot to wake her up due to her sleep deprivation. Laverne shakes Charles's hand and replies "Ooooooh.....is there a place we could lie down". More comedy gold. Charles "pops up" again in the tag.

If you are a fan of the show, I'm positive you'll enjoy this episode.

Dana Goes Into Labor Prematurely
23 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Even the title "Deliverance" makes me laugh. There are lots of laughs in this episode.

The friction between Jim & Dana is perfect. Great comedic delivery & timing.

Poor Dana stuck with Jim & Andy when going into labor. Makes for excellent comedy though.

Highly, highly recommended.

Especially Strong Episode...
23 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The subject matter doesn't seem to be unusual for the period. I can remember an episode of "Carter Country", Kojak, etc.....where there were unexpectedly gay characters.

Nobody looked more shocked that Alice to find out Jack Newhouse was "gay" after what she thought was a wonderful and romantic evening.

The episode holds pretty well for being 45 years old. In fact the show was off the air for almost 15 years before I was born.

A real good episode.

Conning a Crook...
23 January 2022
A real sleeper episode from the first season. The Angels using brains rather than beauty to catch the crook. (They're still very beautiful and they can't help that).

Actually I'd love to have seen more episodes similar to this that break the mould a little bit. (Rosemary For Remembrance comes to mind).

A real good episode with an excellent script that was well executed by all!

Intense Season Finale...
23 January 2022
No spoilers here. The last episode from Season 1 and the standout episode IMHO.

Lots of tension here. This is certainly a top episode from the entire series. The show should keep your eyes glued to the TV.

Excellent script, acting, direction, etc... No disappointments here.

Phil Hartman as a Laverne Trainee....
23 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the top episodes in the series. Harry dates a 28 year old which puts off Barbara, Carol & Paige's parents. (Actually this young date is quite likeable, not to mention gorgeous).

Lots of laughs as you would expect with Richard Mulligan, Phil Hartman, etc.......and an excellent script.

I'll go out on a limb an pretty much guarantee you'll have a lot of fun watching this episode. (If you enjoy funny sitcoms).

Highest recommedation!

Nude Beach!!!

Warning: Spoilers
My #1 episode from the 3rd season. Lots of laughs.

Got to love Stanley's new hobby of looking at "seashells". He brings his binoculars to be ecologically friendly. (Wink-wink).

Joyce (Janet) is fantastic in the episode attempting to shed her "reliable" tag. Helen helps her out.

The scene at the Greek restaurant is excellent as is the scene with Janet & Helen hiding in the bushes.

Lots of fun. Highly recommended.
