Tehran (2020)
Great start!!! Then downhill from there..
This is one of the more disappointing shows ever. We were looking forward to this and had high hopes. We quit halfway through episode 5.
The one major disappointed theme that becomes evident a few episodes in is how manu colossal mistakes she makes, back-to-back-to-back. If she was an average chick off the street then you just dimiss it and don't give it much thought. But she's not just a chick off the street, she's a highly-trained moussad spy with the fate of her country in limbo.
Even taking into account this is just fiction and entertainment, her ineptness just erases any hope of believability and therefore intensity or enjoyment. The show portrays her being as qualified as a teenage girl who attended spy camp for a week.
Too bad. It really had a great start!
Losing Alice (2020)
Don't fall for the hype
First of all, I will say, if you watched the dubbed version, then this show is a 1, if you watched it with the subtitles, which I always recommend for foreign shows, then this is a 3 or 4 Max.
Overall, don't let anyone try to convince you that you're not sophisticated or artistic enough, to grasp this show, and therefore that is the reason you don't enjoy it. It's simply not a very good show. Very boring, not intriguing enough, and quite annoying at times. The co-lead character, Sophie, couldn't be more annoying and unenjoyable, if she tried.
The show tries to be Faustian or Lynchian, but it just doesn't work. Lots of people have tried to be David Lynch, and sometimes it just doesn't work. It sometimes didn't work for lunch himself.
I love foreign shows/movies, but don't waste your time on this one
Line of Duty (2012)
Good cops investigating bad cops...or are they?
Great show! A great whodunnit! I see a few bad reviews referencing plot holes and unrealistic scenarios. I argue that it's those plot holes in real life that allow cops to get away with much of the criminal activity they perpetrate. Reality shows us everyday scenarios of cops caught lying, framing others, and killing at will, which makes most of sit back and scream, "What?! They're not going to indict him/her?"
Line of Duty blurs that line and keeps you guessing as to who is bad, who is good, and who may be a little (or alot) of both. So, if there cops posting reviews of flawed or inaccurate police procedures in this show, that's fair. It probably is annoying to you. But for the rest of us who know that police are as corrupt, fallible, conniving, treacherous, and murderous, as rest of the general population, then this is a 10/10 show!
Servant: Marino (2021)
Time to put this show out to pasture.
Don't be fooled by someone posting a positive review and trying to sound poetic in doing so. Every episode thus season has been garbage, and this episode is no different. Don't be convinced otherwise
