Knowall
18 June 2023
Just finished the last episode of series 2 and finally pinpointed what I don't like about this show - The main character is such a know all. Sally Lindsay, who created, writes and stars as the titular Mde Blanc, explains literally everything, showing off her vast knowledge on every single subject known to man. For example, in the last episode, she explains who the clowns from commedia dell'arte are, tells us all how the brain's smell centre is very close to the memory centre so therefore scents trigger memories, that the smell of rain is called Petrichor, and then all about Ambergris.

She is also expert in EVERY antique, and knows the price of EVERYTHING without having to refer to any price guides or listings.

All of this would be fine if someone else got a look in, but no, Lindsay selfishly gets all the lines to herself and everyone else just stands around intently listening as she imparts her wisdom. Everyone just looks stupid compared to her vast intellect.

Its a shame, because the mysteries are quite good, but the writing needs to improve to make me watch any more.

Boring
17 November 2022
This film is at least an hour too long and feels every moment of it. Namor has been changed so much I don't know how they had the nerve to even call him that name. Calling the white people "colonizer" is particularly unsavoury.

None of the Wakandans are very sympathetic, in fact they are all downright arrogant and rude, and extremely bad-tempered throughout. I nearly started rooting for the Talocans by the end.

Marvel continue to fumble phase 4, where the emphasis seems to be on quantity rather than quality in every project so far. The only one I've actually enjoyed is Werewolf By Night

Just very poor.

Boring

Really boring and slow, and what makes it worse is its nearly an hour and a half long. I really dislike this trend for making super long episodes, Stranger Things s4 is guilty too. I think the stories need to be a set length to sharpen the writing, this "takes as long as it takes" attitute makes the episode meander along and get bogged down in details.

People really complaining about Cara not being able to act when the show has got Selena Gomez.in it?

Their side story with them seems forced and false.

Amy Schumer is appalling as usual.

Hopefully the story will kick in soon and these subpar subplots will be left behind.

Disney just can't write existing characters.
17 June 2022
This follows the trend of the writers just not understanding existing characters and using them badly. The TV shows have shown that they can write good stuff with original characters, like the Mandalorean, but then screw up existing ones like Boba Fett.

The plot is laughable (a senator's daughter goes missing and he sends one man instead of an entire army?) There is very little actual story, just just a procession of predictaments and oppotunities for some over the top CGI. The big bad is very bland and one-dimesional, even with her big reveal.

All the 10 star reviews are review bombs, this show is a 6 at best, and that's if you know nothing about Star Wars and just watch it for some sci-fi hijinks.

Pretty boring

This is clearly aimed at a younger audience, which is fine but I hope older fans aren't forced to watch this for plot point in the ongoing universe.

I don't really get the hype around this, its full of ridiculous stereotypes and the lead is hardly "super-likable"

Predictable

Warning: Spoilers
The moment they introduced Sharon Carter back in episode three I knew she would be the one to take out Karli. In these days of PC and woke culture, its an unwritten rule that men cannot beat women (literally or figuratively) so the only person that could possibly stop Karli was a woman, and the only other woman in the show was Sharon.

I understand there is a distaste for showing violence against women, and rightly so, but along with never having a POC as a baddie, it makes watching things that are meant to be exciting very boring as you can predict whats coming.

Awful

I've struggled through the last 2 seasons of this once amazing show. This episode is the first one I've actually turned off. Just painfully bad. I hope they get rid of Keen and get back to how great the show was.
