Okay... to begin with, we couldn't even make it through to the end of this movie. We lasted maybe 30 minutes before we had to walk away. I don't usually expect much from the special effects in these movies, but they're bad enough in this one to disappoint even me. The acting is mediocre. The direction is not great. The writing is poor. And then there's the confusion about the title. I had a heck of a time even finding the imdb page for this movie. I came across it on tubi with the title Elevator. Here they call it Haunted Hotel. Then in the opening credits it says Hellavator Hotel. I almost felt like they were tricking me into buying something sight unseen.

Let me start by saying that I love Dominic Purcell. He was a big selling point for me. Christine Evangelista and Carly Chaikin are also talented actors. Their performances were good.

As for the rest of this movie, there are very few redeeming qualities. The writing is terrible. The dialogue is awkward, the vocabulary of the detectives is unrealistic/inaccurate. (At one point a detective says "Let's take a look at some cop photos") The directing was terrible. A lot of the acting was terrible. There were very few brain cells in this movie. You probably shouldn't watch it if you have a low threshold for stupid.

If you are the type to watch this sort of movie you'll love Bullet Train. It's full of action with a twisted sense of humour and the acting is top notch. A lot of action movies suffer in the storyline department, but not this one. They took the time for some real character development, which is especially impressive considering the fact that it's an ensemble cast. I'm honestly not sure how they managed it while still keeping up this level of action and without making the movie feel too long. The only the thing that could have improved it in my opinion is more screen time for Logan Lerman. Such a talented man. (And I loved his Russian accent.)

This movie is strange but not in a good way. The story is underwhelming. The audio is horrendous. (You can barely make out the dialogue over the score). We had to turn on the subtitles. The only positive is the acting. You can't fault any of the actors for their performances. Bottom line is, there was potential, but it fell very short. Don't waste your time. Pass this one by.

This movie seems to find a perfect balance between horror and comedy. The humour is dark and at times a little goofy. The horror is genuinely creepy and there are even some good jump scares. I would highly recommend it.

This movie is exactly what you'd expect if you've watched the trailer. It's totally campy and so much fun. If you're a fan of horror comedy, if you're a fan of old movies I would definitely recommend it. I grew up watching old movies from the 40's and I loved what they did here. It really felt like they were paying homage.

I watch a lot of these movies and expected this to be just like all the others. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong. There was a twist that even I didn't see coming! And that's saying something. Even if this type of movie isn't normally your thing, I highly recommend it!

Nothing happens in this movie. Unless it all happens at the end. We quit halfway through. The lead is not likable and she doesn't act. She simply mumbles her lines so inaudibly we had to turn on the subtitles. Don't waste your time.
