Project Iceman (2022)
The most invigorating documentary I have ever seen.
This is not your typical documentary: this is a testament to the emotional fortitude that it takes to pursue your dreams. The jaw-dropping cinematography completely immersed me in Hofman's journey, keeping me on the edge of my seat from the opening scene to the ending credits. Though, what makes this documentary truly incredible is the realness of it. Kandil and Hofman leave everything on the table, bringing you along for every step of the expedition: the successes, the failures, the moments of heart-wrenching breakdowns, and the moments of pure, unadulterated bliss. In a world hyper-focused with maintaining mundane routines, Hofman pursues his greatest dream - his 'Iceman' - and leaves the audience completely invigorated to pursue their own 'Iceman', regardless of how big or small that dream may be. Kandil's brilliant directorial work paired beautifully with Hofman's vision, and left me truly believing in their collective message: "limitations are perceptions". I have never felt so inspired to pursue the dreams that I once thought were impossible. I walked out of that theater having been changed forever.

Freak Power: The Ballot or the Bomb (2020)
PUT THIS ON YOUR WATCHLIST!
This documentary is beautiful. As a lover of Hunter Thompson, I could not take my eyes of the screen. It brings relevancy to what many people may see as a small political event, and brings it through the eyes of the Doctor of Journalism himself. I'm not going to include spoilers. Please watch this documentary right now. You won't regret it.
