I really don't know what type of literature the writer was reading when he got the idea for this film, but it feels like a few different types simultaneously!

They just tried to put EVERYTHING in it!

Quite lamentably, actually!

Such badly written characters it's almost insulting to the stars depicting them.

To think I hit play just to change from the American mumbo-jumbo I'd seen lately... And after all the head-turning story, the ending was really really embarrassing! Not to mention unnecessary.

An incredible woman's destiny depicted with dreamy Russian-style wanna be panoramas and "torment of a woman" emphasis.

Characters merely sketched and too much left to the atmospheric camera swing.

No supporting role, the feeling of actors waiting for their lines to "fall into place".

Unfortunately, I feel like too much was left to the realistic decor.

Beautiful dresses and naturally worn by (most of) the women. Men looked likes stuffed animals in their impeccable, too fresh and not at all realistic costumes.

The monarchs rule together, yet the king has four lines only (including the speech he gives to his rebellious son, to whom he never stands up to in front of others).

Such a pity for wasted means...
