Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
How Clyde Phillips destroyed Dexter and Harrison's characters in 10 minutes
Clyde Phillips, do you remember your own show? Do you remember the season 3 finale when Dexter was on Skinner's desk? Do you remember what happened after in seasons 4-9 (up until episode 9 of New Blood)?
Dexter loved his son! Maybe not the way normal people do, but he LOVED him even when Harrison was still in the womb !!!
Then back to the absolutely ghoulish final scenes. Are you making Dexter ask Harrison to kill him? Are you trying to tell me that Dexter is so cowardly and fearful of litigation that he's willing to condemn his own son to the burden of parricide? Have you forgotten what Dexter's reaction was when he found out that Harry had committed suicide because of him? And Dexter was ready to doom his own son to the same suffering? Are you seriously saying this ??? How will the child now live with this? Will this make him a normal person? Oh my god, I have a headache from this murder scene. I could not have imagined a more terrible ending for the New Blood.
I don't want to be reminded of some of the plot holes like other users. Because this is nothing compared to the way you destroyed two of my favorite characters!
Dexter: New Blood: Storm of Fuck (2021)
I'm in awe of the second episode
Finally, the writers admitted that Dexter is selfish to the core and mentally very unstable. I feel like this is what should have happened to him after season 4 (as much as I love season 5) if Clyde had stayed.
And the storyline armor seems thinner than ever before in this season.
Dexter: New Blood: Cold Snap (2021)
A great start to the new season
Someone complains about the predictability in the first episode. But isn't that the best solution for screenwriters to go that route? We all remember Dexter's final episode and the "huge surprise" that the ending brought to fans. A soft reboot with no OMG moments and a predictable plot brought Dexter back to the form we all loved so much.
I'm looking forward to the second episode, when the main story of the season begins.
Dune (2021)
Boring. I just fell asleep at the cinema.
I haven't read books. Perhaps that's why it's just very difficult for me to understand the plot. The writers of this film did not take care of their viewers at all. It seems that I, as a viewer, should go to this film prepared, having read the book by Frank Herbert before. The plot jumps from one character to another, without really explaining anything. The actions of the main characters are incomprehensible, their motivations are incomprehensible. The dialogues are empty, simple and superficial.
I give 2 points to this "masterpiece". 1 point for music (thanks, Hans Zimmer), and 1 point for visuals in some scenes.
Sorry for my English.
Dexter (2006)
Dark masterpiece
Sorry for my English and possible spoilers
I want to express my admiration for the creators of this show. It was an amazing unique dive into the world of a serial killer. I've never seen anything like it.
Usually, when a show talks about serial killers, it all comes down to one thing: the police start hunting down the killer and he is eventually caught. But here we are dealing with a completely extraordinary approach. We explore the evolution of the mind of a serial killer as the story unfolds. From a perfect psychopath and a monster to an almost ordinary person who is able to love and care for his loved ones, despite his terrible pathology. We also become observers of how the eerie truth about who Dexter Morgan really is, is gradually destroying almost everyone close to him in one way or another. Plus add to that the detective side of the show, with unique antagonists each season. And we get incredible crime drama.
In 2013, when the show ended, I was a little upset by the open ending. This whole story of "lumberjack forever" was completely inappropriate for the main character. But now we have season 9, which we have been waiting for 8 years. And I love it!
I am writing this review after my second viewing of Dexter in 2021.
