Quantum Leap: Against Time (2024)
Season 2, Episode 13

WOW!
23 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It took a little while for the QL reboot to hit its stride and find its voice but this season finale was easily the best episode of the series. I'm eager to see what comes next. Please renew for a season 3. It hits all the right notes that the original series used to do so well while also making the story unique and modern. There's a beautiful call back to the OG series.

"I know you're angry and I know loss changes you. It changed me too. I lost my mom when I was 15 and I don't even remember my dad. I promised I'd spend the rest of my life with someone and I lost her too. I lost everything. Time is t fair. It's a thief. It takes everything from us. But I have the power to give people what I never had. A second chance. And Jeffrey, you have that power too... you can help those who are hurting. Or you can give in to rage and hatred and make the world even worse. But that's not what your dad wanted for you."

That was Raymond Lee's Emmy reel right there...

Witchblade (2001–2002)

I Don't Know What You Guys are Talking About

I liked Witchblade as a TV series and I was disappointed when it was canceled. If this were released on DVD, I'd gladly shell out a few bucks to acquire it for my collection. There are far too few strong female characters on TV. Plus, Yancy Butler was freaking hot.

Now I do know that it departed from the story line from the comics but I also understand that sometimes that's necessary to make the show accessible to non-comicbook nerds. It was a little frustrating how they reset the entire story line after the end of season 1 but I've been asked to believe far more ridiculous plot points on other more well respected shows.

Pterodactyl (2005)

Goodness Gracious!
25 November 2006
Sci-Fi channel original movies are the movies that used to be on Saturday matinées. B movies like Planet 9 from Outer Space, Mars Needs Women and Killer Klowns from Outer Space but this movie gives entertainingly bad moves a bad name.

The Pterodactyl's themselves are ridiculous looking (which is strange because the technology from Jurassic Park 3 made some convincing looking pterodactyls a few years ago but I'm not going to nit pick). It was strange that if you hit one of them just right, it would explode in a mist of red goop (probably cherry jello).

It has rapper, Coolio, calling anything and everything a __ __ son of a bitch. Stick to rapping dude.

There are people being ripped in half (I don't think if a person were ripped in half it would look like the body is stuffed full of spaghetti).

The plot says that this is taking place in a third world nation of eastern Europe, but the whole thing looks like it was shot on the fairway of a golf course in Hawaii, in fact when the story says they have been traveling from one clearing to another and they come out onto the same fairway shot from a different angle.

With the exception of some of their series's, Sci-Fi original programming is without a doubt, some of the most entertainingly BAD movies I've ever seen.
