El espejo (2008 TV Movie)

Very much mediocre with a so-so ending
22 July 2010
When I saw the DVD with the title THE MIRROR, being a good horror movie fan it instantly reminded me the Asian hit 'Into the Mirror'. At first I thought it possibly the below average Aja's remake with a different cover. But after reading the synopsis in the back cover then it become clear to me "Nope, it's with different freaky Mirror shows." The story follows Alvaro & Sonia, a young married couple in crisis, have just moved into a new city. Alvaro managed a new job but Sonia apparently left everything to follow him. One day she buys a mirror that used to hang in an old hotel in the city. Eventually she finds the mirror not limited to show her reflection, and then she can see the heinous murder of a woman from the mirror! Sonia then trying start to discover the truth whether what she saw was real or not. After that, Sonia's life is to convert into a very common nightmare in compare to any similar horror films. As a Spanish horror film I was expecting more from it than it delivered. The cast was good. All the actors were more or less competent with their roles but the unsatisfactory part comes from the main area...Story; very much mediocre with a so-so ending.

Manhunt (2008)

Worth a watch.

Warning: Spoilers
Yeah..it was quite influenced by TCM or other survival genre movies but I think it has its moments. Like it almost started like TCM. The same TCM like van..the time period of 70's...the hitchhiker definitely reminded me the Tobe Hooper's masterpiece but when the survival game & blood shed started I began to like it. There were no chainsaw or Leatherface, the villains were attacking with knife & guns in the woods and there was no record or background shown about them. But the question is..."Does it really matters on the way to enjoy a movie?" A group of young people were getting terrorized & killed by some maniacs in the woods and the victims were trying to escape...the simple math, to see is whether any of them in the end able to survive or not.Though the plot was unoriginal but as it pretty successfully able to entertained me so I didn't mind at all. In this days of crap remakes I think we should at least try to appreciate this kinda effort of putting different shade in this popular sub genre of horror.

Argento is back!
22 March 2008
It's really nice to see when some of the great directors of all time (alive) present us now days their masterpiece works again. We are so much lucky to see directors like Dario Argento are again back in the genre. Though you may find some mixed reviews about the movie. But I like to say ....WoW! Argento is back with the 70's splatter fest! And this time he is more brutal with the victims. I quite enjoyed all the gore parts, blood sheds, nudity and his usual chilling background scores. But little bit disappointed with the final climax. Moreover, feeling somewhat sorry for myself that I still haven't seen Inferno yet. I'll order it on e-bay soon.

.....just surprised me.

Warning: Spoilers
OSO just surprised me! How have become the Bollywood icons like Shahrukh Khan, Farah khan put themselves into this level!?! After watching this film it's quite clear that what they actually think about themselves. It seems that they are thinking that they are the ruler of the Bollywood...they are the LORDS~! Otherwise, how they become dare to make this kinda piece of s**t? Are they thinking that the audience is always ready to eat whatever the s**t they want to present/deliver in the theater?! I just wonder how they have become just gone so far!?! And there is a answer for it.

"As long as the 'media' like to be slave of them they are going to make more of crap like OSO in the coming years." I have this same opinion regarding Bansali's Sawaria (oh! that is more pathetic!)
