"Religion bad"
3 June 2021
Guys, did you get it? Religion bad! So deep! I understand if you couldn't detect the complex undertones of religion bad. It's something only enlightened atheists (like myself) can decipher.

Mr. Meaty (2005–2009)
An abomination
3 June 2021
God should smite those who had any involvement whatsoever in this TV show's creation.

Both the characters and the story of Mr. Meaty are the pinnacle of disgust. There are absolutely NO redeeming qualities present. Though I have tried to forget for over a decade, the memories of Mr. Meaty still flood my consciousness, particularly when I am trying to fall asleep. It is pure, raw, and intense nightmare fuel. No amount of therapy can erase the damage that has been inflicted on my psyche by Mr. Meaty. I'll see their faces and hear their voices in my head for as long as I live. But can you really call that "living?"

Recommended only to the most determined of mental masochists.

Vinland Saga (2019–2023)
Mediocre
31 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was nothing special. It has a very cliché/generic plot. After a few episodes in, you start seeing that atrocious typical anime behavior from the characters (ex: Naruto running, screaming for no reason, stupid jokes and character designs, etc.) which is cringy.

All the characters are very unlikeable except for Ylva, Leif, most of the peasants, and Canute before he went crazy at the end. Speaking of Canute, his little "character development" happened WAY too fast. He changed completely in the blink of an eye. It wasn't realistic at all.

There were some touching moments. But not enough to bring my rating up. All in all, this show is way too long. It could have cut 30% of its episodes and told the same exact story.

I would not recommend to others.

Steins;Gate (2011–2015)
Overrated is an understatement
27 May 2021
I did not like this show at all. The first half is extremely boring. The rest tries to be "deep" but fails. The cast is extremely weird. In true degenerate Japanese fashion, the main character has an army of little girls (one of whom is actually a BOY) who act like they're 5-10 years old. It's disturbing.

Anime fans are pathetic. The bar is so low for anime that they think Steins;Gate is actually good. It's not.

Pointless indie movie
27 May 2021
I kept waiting for the climax to happen but it never arrived. Seriously, this was a waste of time. It was also very weird. I didn't care about any character.

Made in Abyss (2017– )
Anime fans are delusional
20 May 2021
Anime fans have deluded themselves into thinking that this show among others (Steins;Gate, Monster, Demon Slayer, FMAB, etc etc etc, too many to name) are amazing shows. The only PASSABLE show from that list I mentioned was FMAB. Honestly, Japanese media is inferior in every way to American media with maybe a few exceptions.

This show is just weird. Which should be expected considering it was made in Japan, the center of all modern degeneracy. Naked kids (constantly), boys who look and dress like girls, etc. The story is boring and not logical.

Bad.

Extremely predictable plot twist. The music and animation was good. The ending was sweet. Everything else was average.

The second worst movie I have ever seen

A waste of my time. Extremely boring. Extremely long. Extremely nonsensical. I recommend to absolutely no one, except my worst enemies.

Spirited Away (2001)
The worst movie I've ever seen
17 May 2021
An abomination of a "film." I'm not even kidding. This movie is absolutely horrific; it's ugly, boring, nonsensical, poorly written, and undeveloped. I hate this movie with a burning passion. Everyone scoring this anything above a 5 needs to seek psychiatric help, because they are obviously either deranged, idiotic, or brain dead.

Sam & Cat (2013–2014)
Basic, hollow
14 May 2021
Just rides on the coattails of iCarly and Victorious. Cat's voice and character is dialed up to an 11 and not in a good way. Extremely average show that can be entertaining at times. No substance whatsoever.

First 3 seasons are great
13 May 2021
Seasons 1-3 are an 8. I didn't bother trying to rate anything past those because of the sharp decline in quality. There are some rare gems scattered among the other seasons, but for the most part, the episodes are trash.

I recommend watching seasons 1-3 to kids ages 6 and up.

Great Star Wars kids show
3 May 2021
I really liked the Clone Wars. It's pretty long and can be bad at times. Plus I thought some plot points were stupid and contrived. Despite this, I found it very entertaining, especially the last season. Solid show for any fans of Star Wars, particularly middle school kids.

I would recommend this show to younger Star Wars fans.

Super entertaining
3 May 2021
Very trashy teen drama....but very entertaining! At least the first 5 seasons are (that's all I've seen). Not quality TV, the acting can be horrible at times, plot holes and inconsistencies, ridiculous character choices, etc. But man...it's fun to watch.

I would recommend Degrassi to ALMOST no one. If I know someone who is addicted to drama, I might recommend them this if they only want to be entertained.

The Legend of Korra (2012–2014)
Only the world is good
3 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason this show gets a 7 and not a 6 is because of the world. The world is great and so is the bending. The story and characters? Bad.

Season 1 comes in hot and already starts deconstructing the laws established in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Only a couple side characters are likeable (Tenzin, Lin). The rest are just hollow caricatures (Bolin, Mako, Asami, etc.).

Season 2 is easily the worst season. Wow it is bad. You thought the lore-breaking in season 1 was bad? WOW, just wait until you see the Pokémon spirits and the giant laser battle and the evil flying kites who for some reason wants to destroy the world...

Season 3 is the best. Still a bunch of lore-breaking. But the evil squad is fun. Fights are good even though I don't particularly care about those too much.

Season 4 is also pretty bad. It feels so anime-y. The giant mecha suits? Awful. Kuvira is not compelling and neither are her motivations.

The show isn't "deep." It's decent. It butchers a lot of the previously established rules in ATLA. That is the worst part. The characters are also horrible. And don't get me started on the tumblr fan service that was "Korrasami."

The Office (2005–2013)
Best comedy show
3 May 2021
Review for seasons 1-5 only. 6-9 are a let down.

There are funny moments in every episode. It's episodic, but there are still small overarching plots. Michael got on my nerves a lot, but he gets better. The woman playing Pam was not a great actress. There were some cringy Jim and Pam moments.

I would recommend this show to most everyone.

Really good
3 May 2021
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the Queen's Gambit. It's not something I usually watch but I'm glad I did.

I did not like how Beth became a degenerate later on. I also didn't like the profanity. It could have gone without that and been the exact same story. Just useless.

The story is really good though. You would think and show about chess would be super boring, but I was never bored. The first two episodes are really good. Then there is a slight steady decline until the last episode.

I would recommend this show to most people as long as they are ok with pointless moderate sexual content and language.

The Promised Neverland (2019–2021)
Entertaining
3 May 2021
I have only seen the first season. It was a good watch. Short and sweet. I liked it.

I enjoyed the story and characters (except for edgelord Ray). However, there were multiple jumps in logic that I couldn't get past. If there's a minor plot hole or two, I'm ok with it. But when characters figure things out that no sane person would unravel, it bothers me. Norman makes a bunch of (ultimately correct) assumptions.

The story was good, even though I have seen basically the same idea played out better in a book I read a long time ago. So it's not super original.

I would recommend this show to most people.

Derry Girls (2018–2022)
A good watch for comedy
3 May 2021
I enjoyed watching Derry Girls. There were a lot of funny moments. If you're not Irish, you'll have to watch with closed captioning.

The show is entertaining and the characters are good. I don't like the amount of profanity. I could have easily recommended this to my family if there wasn't so much bad language.

I would recommend this show to friends looking for a short, episodic, casual comedy.

Anne with an E (2017–2019)
Decent
3 May 2021
The main character was so cringy that I cannot, under good conscience, give this show more than a 6. She was also overacting. I hated the love interest, Gilbert (AKA Mr. Perfect). I liked the side characters. The story was decent. I hated the liberal agenda though. In most shows there's a liberal agenda but it's not that egregious or in-your-face. In Anne With an E, it was, to a laughable degree. Believe me, it was really bad and I was rolling my eyes.

I might recommend this show to people who like period dramas and teen shows. If they made another season, I might skim it.

Game of Thrones (2011–2019)
Good moments and sometimes good story
3 May 2021
Tyrion was overacting the entire time. It was hard to watch.

I only watched seasons 1-5. Still thought this show was nothing special. The gratuitous violence and sexual content was a severe detriment to the show. Brought my score down a full 2.5 points. Just awful.

Plays into shock factor way too much. Most of the time the shock value has nothing of substance, it's just done for the sake of it.

The story was decent. I thought the whole zombie thing was stupid. The characters aren't good either. There were only a few likeable ones but most were killed off.

I would not finish watching Game of Thrones nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Best kids show of all time
27 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Just beautiful! What more can I say? This might be the best TV show I've ever seen.

Avatar: The Last Airbender does everything right. It's very much a character driven show. There isn't a single character I dislike.

The only complaints I have is the "romance" between Katara and Aang, some of the filler episodes, and Aang's reluctance to kill Ozai.

I highly recommend this to kids ages 7+. Even though it was made for children, older audiences will appreciate it as well.

The Mandalorian (2019– )
Entertaining Star Wars show
25 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed watching the Mandalorian. The effects are great and the aliens look good. Just a solid episodic show.

I really liked episodes 2 and 3. They felt magical to me. I did not like the filler episodes. Some of them made me cringe. The main character's actor often makes me cringe as well. He is also pretty boring.

In the second season, I hated how they brought in Ahsoka. She is my favorite Star Wars character and it really felt like they are milking it. We get it, she's cool. But she shouldn't be in the Mandalorian. Especially when she didn't even help! I thought adding in Bo-Katan made sense but not Ahsoka.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this show to all Star Wars fans. It's pretty solid.

High highs, low lows
25 April 2021
I enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It's a little zany, and I'm confused about its target audience. But it is enjoyable most of the time.

There are some parts of this 65 episode show where it is boring. Real boring. But, if you can get through that, you'll reach some highs.

There are some major plot holes and things that don't make sense. Especially at the end. But, like I've mentioned, there are some really great moments throughout.

I think middle school kids will like this the most, but older audiences can appreciate it as well.

All in all, I would recommend this show to the target audience, but not many more people.

Attack on Titan (2013–2023)
Unique and captivating
25 April 2021
Attack on Titan might be the best TV show I've ever seen. I can't think of another with a better plot.

I am not an anime fan at all. In fact, I hate it. Attack on Titan is a notable exception. There is no sexualization of women as well as gender equality, which is a huge plus. The show doesn't decrease in quality as it goes on. I would say, while still great, season 1 is the weakest of them all. Despite having over 70 episodes, I've never been bored watching it. Every episode is very important and extremely entertaining. Anything else I say about the show goes into spoiler territory.

My only issues with Attack on Titan is the pacing in the first season, a couple relatively important scenes from the manga being cut, and a few things in the first & third seasons that didn't make sense to me (maybe it will be explained). These BARELY detract from the quality or experience.

Of course, it's up to taste. In my case, it feels like this show was MADE for me. I hope all of you can experience it in the same way. I HIGHLY recommend Attack on Titan to those whose favorite genres include action, mystery, adventure, horror, fantasy, thriller, war, drama, or military.
