Young Justice: Rescue and Search (2022)
This is peak Young Justice
After a set of a few slow episodes this feels like perfection. Everything in this episode is intriguing and interesting, no boring side plots. We've got most of the OG team back working together, some amazing detective work and a great fight scene in there as well. It's paced perfectly too! Can't wait for next week because this episode had everything I could ask for!
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Ketsui (2021)
IMDB needs to add a way to prevent review bombing
(REVIEW FARTHER BELOW)
It is unfortunate that there will always be negativity. If you are reading this please know this episode is amazing and deserves all the praise.
This is arguably the best episode in the series and it's really disappointing that people will continue to review bomb. I've seen this happen with so many shows and episodes, from Boruto to one piece to WandaVision. Disappointed at all the needless hate and I really think IMDb needs to add a way to prevent it.
Here is an actual review though.
In this action packed, emotion filled episode, Studio Pierrot masterfully delivers a legendary episode that will stand the test of time. Split into 2 halves, Naruto's Baryon mode is on full display for the first 10 minutes. The back half of the episode focuses on kawaki and his ultimate decision to face his fear.
Beautifully animated the uncertainty and sadness of this unknown form combines with the excitement and hype of the beautifully shot fight scene. The taijutsu and choreography are comparable to the best of the series as the talented Boruto animators demonstrate what happens when they decide to go all out. So many unique techniques show why the Baryon mode truly is a completely different beast. The fight pays homage to the classic Naruto VS Sasuke fight at the final valley while also showcasing incredible new feats of narutos form through the unique animation of his flowing nine tails cloak. A fight for the ages perfectly executed and an easy 10/10 for the first half of the episode.
The second half of the episode focuses on kawaki as he is whisked into the dimension through narutos connected chakra via isshiki's teleportation jutsu. Despite being much less focused on action this half of the episode allows the talented people in charge of the storyboard to shine. The episode uses the signature Naruto technique of the flashback which seems fitting in Masashi Kishimoto's return to the story. Masaya Honda is once again in charge of kawaki's backstory and delivers one of the most impactful moments in the series. Kawaki receives brutal flashbacks of jigen tormenting a young kawaki. Treating his fish as a hostage the same way he is now using kawaki. Perfectly timed and combined with encouraging flashbacks of Naruto's support, kawaki comes forward. Facing his fear and trauma which could be labeled as PTSD. The scene is beautiful and knowing what happens from the flash forward in the first episode I eagerly await the moments that the Boruto team will be able to pull of in the future. Another 10/10 for the back half of the episode.
This episode is incredible, from start to finish genuinely one of the best episodes of TV I have seen. It is unfortunate that there will always be negativity. If you are reading this please know this episode is amazing and deserves all the praise.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Last Day Pt 2 (2021)
Perfect ending to an incredible show!
Emotional, funny, self aware and near flawless. So happy I can say this police sitcom I've fallen in love with has gone out with an extremely well done ending! So many amazing moments I can't begin to go into without diving into spoilers! If you're a fan of the show you will laugh, cry and rejoice over this episode regardless of what you thought of the season as a whole. NINE NINE!!!
