Ruby in Paradise (1993)
Best Summer Movie
Drama, Romance, and coming-of-age is just three genres I would classify this film in, but I could think of more. Ruby in Paradise is a perfect balance of those three genres, and it is seamless. As the story unfolds, you get sucked in deeper with each step that Ruby takes. From her job endeavors to her love interests, you sit on the edge of your seat waiting to see the person Ruby becomes. This film is so perfectly shot that you feel some sort of emotional connection with this movie. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who values a great film.
Kiss the Ground (2020)
A must see
Kiss the Ground is like a promising love letter to planet Earth. With the bright minds of scientist, farmers, and even some celebrities, they show us the reality on which we face in our near future. In comparison the documentary also introduces solutions ranging from daily tasks to yearlong projects. Who knew that the solution to global warming has been right under our feet the entire time? We can use soil to naturally decline CO2 levels and store the gas back in the soil! I have always believed that we would need a fancy machine to save our climate, but after watching this documentary I now know that there is genuine hope for our home. The best part is anyone can participate by composting old food scrapes or by planting a tree. If you want to be enlightened and discover hope for our future, then stream Kiss the Ground on Netflix.
